It comes as no surprise to me that Rand Paul does poorly with women. Most libertarians do. Pew polling shows us that Libertarians are much more likely to be male (59%) and young (33% are under age 30) than are any of the other groups. They tend to come across as unsympathetic, uncaring and rigid like an ex-husband or stern boss. It also should come as no surprise that despite his ethnicity, Cruz is doing poorly with Hispanics.
[C]ampaigns could help themselves if they took a look at GOP pollster Whit Ayress 2016 and Beyond: How Republicans Can Elect a President in the New America. ... Ayres (THE POLLSTER FOR RUBIO) makes a compelling case that the GOP can no longer win presidential elections relying so heavily on the white vote. There just arent enough of them. He explains, The number of white voters did drop from 2008 to 2012 by about 4.2 million. . . . Romney won more white votes than any Republicans nominee in this century... Even if all the missing white voters had showed up and every single one had voted for Romney, he still would have lost the election By the same token, it is clear that doing as poorly as the GOP does with female voters (especially single women) makes it extremely difficult to find an electoral majority.
So coming back to Rand Paul and Ted Cruz, its evident that these two candidates despite whatever efforts at outreach are restricting, not expanding their appeal. The GOP cannot win by relying so heavily on white males, and yet thats precisely whom these two appeal to..
Ayres argues that to expand beyond its traditional base, the GOP needs to, among, other things, eschew ideological rigidity ...

Actually, the public amount is over $40M ...($4.0+ in contrib. and $37M+ PACS)— but no need to quibble. -:)
lol. the word I hear over and over is security. they want security.
that used to come from a stable family and a good, steady income.
there is no security In depending on govt for your needs.
Does Cruz have 34 million from H1b promoting corporations? Shame on Cruz. He is losing people suffering because of his corporist streak affecting citizen American Hispanics and Anglos.
I have absolutely rejected that position in spite of his profound conservatism elsehere.
SAD.
WHY work?... get FREE givernment money..
Should work until the money runs out..
Then the SWHTF.....
Good to hear. :) Last time I heard it was $34 million, but it probably changes very quickly.
I hear all the time now about a single woman being pregnant and everyone is so excited. about what I don’t know. their taxes going to raise someone else’s kid? the odds that the kid will end up in trouble with the law? the fact that another kid will grow up without a father?
let’s all celebrate.
:)
I don’t know if the Post has had to drop its’ dental ‘t coverage, but if they haven’t she should do something about her unfortunate smile. Better yet, buy a paper bag.
The number of white voters did drop from 2008 to 2012 by about 4.2 million. “
They didn’t go anywhere they just didn’t vote.
Jennifer Rubin, one of Rhino Hugh Hewitt’s favorite guests.
Good thing Cruz will be running agin Hillary, who has even less appeal.
Hugh Hewitt talks to everyone and his favorite guest is the Thursday night staple and my favorite author Mark Steyn.
He talks to lots of Liberals and he is one of the best if not the best interviewer that is on the radio. He is able to elicite answers and is willing to ask probing and detailed questions and doesn’t let the Liberals get away with their standard Leftist nonsense.
Hewitt isn’t as far right as I am, but he is a solid conservative in many ways and he is also a very good lawyer. If you listen to both he and Levin, the best hands down, you will get a graduate school level education in the law.
I would bet regular listeners to these shows know more about Constitutional Law and the workings of the government than the vast majority of law school graduates. Hell, the President of the United States claims to be a law scholar and he is oblivious to what the constitution means.
Emotional, easily manipulated, and prone to vote for whomever will “take care of them” with the most goodies, and make sure men are forced to be utilities for their protection and well-being.
A complete disaster to the west.
Rand Paul has been just about statistically tied with Hillary in polling going back to April.
These establishment concern trolling about Rand Paul’s electability should stop.
Rubin prolly encouraged “purists” to vote for lincoln chaffee because he was “electable” and better than the dem but once he joined the dem party she wasn’t shamed enough to say that was not the best idea!
Every candidate has an upper limit
They need to keep repeating the meme, to make sure that the general voting public hates him. They’ve been doing this for a long time.
She has EVERYTHING to do with the neocons. She is one of the "new breed" which consists of about five dweebs who write for the Post and think tanks and whose only readers are each other.
Cruz isn't perfect. But, I wouldn't call him a neocon. There's a lot of misconceptions about that term. And it's too bad. They are a malevolent force.
“The GOP cannot win by relying so heavily on white males...”
If the GOP increases its share of the white male vote by only 4% they will never lose again.
