Boone, Iowa Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker hopped on a Harley Saturday to raise his profile in this early presidential nominating state.
A half dozen other presidential candidates were on hand, but Walker was the only one to participate in the ride with U.S. Sen. Joni Ernst (R-Iowa) and 300 other bikers. The 39-mile ride honoring veterans wove from the Big Barn Harley-Davidson dealer in Des Moines to the Boone County exposition grounds that will host the Iowa Straw Poll in August.
...Walker regularly promotes the motorcycle company headquartered in Menomonee Falls and owns a 2003 Road King that his wife Tonette bought for him used as a surprise gift. He left that bike at home and instead rented a silver 2014 Road King from Big Barn for this ride.
In interviews, Harley enthusiasts at the event said they liked that Walker was a rider but that it wouldn't play a role in their decision on who to support for president. Ernst said being able to ride a Harley was "not a qualifier (to be president), but an interesting factoid."
Nonetheless, Walker's ability to lead the ride with Iowa's newest senator gave him an advantage, in part because he had a media throng to himself for the early part of the day. A photo of him at the event was featured on the front page of the Drudge Report on Saturday with the headline, "The leader of the pack."
...At 17%, Walker led the packed field in the latest Iowa Poll of likely Republican caucusgoers. That put him 7 points ahead of his nearest rivals, Carson and U.S. Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky. Walker also had the highest favorability rating of all the GOP candidates in that May 25-29 survey, with two-thirds of Republicans having a good impression of him.....

cool
There is a great picture online of Scott Walker with his helmut. It was taken either before or after a long HD riding event.
I have the picture in my file but do not know how to post photos on FR.
He'd ride in on a pogo stick wearing a clown outfit if it would get a few votes.
Thanks! Would love to see this man in the White House! Imagine him doing for the U.S. what he has done in Wisconsin :-)
Some of the photo storage sites on the web (flickr) try to drive web traffic to their site to harvest advertising by providing a convenient pointer to their site that isn't a URL to a .jpg To get the proper URL try right mousing over the image and select Open Image in New Tab. This should get you the naked image itself, without all of the surrounding advertising. This is the URL you want to use.
Access Denied! - No Hotlinking - Occasionally you will see an image that looks good on the site of origin but won't show up if you use it in a posting. Many sites block what they term as "hot-linking" thinking that people who link to their images from pages that are not theirs are stealing their hard paid for bandwidth. They have a point. Either use another image or host it on your own site to fix this problem.
Often the poster will see the image that hot-linking is not allowed for while other users are whining about no image present and red X's. This is because the poster's browser has cached the image and doesn't have to go to the blocked site to get it. A refresh of the page should show what is what.
Size: You can easily vary the size of a given image by specifying it. You may specify size in terms of pixels, em (one character height-width), or percent of enclosing container. Given the wide variation in display platforms the best results are usually obtained by using percent to specify size.
<img src="http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/a/a3/Bobdobbs.png" width="15%"> Yields:
If you are specifying the size of an image it is best to do it in only one dimension and let the computer figure out what the other dimension should be. This will result in images that have not been distorted. Another neat trick is to specify the image size as a percentage of the width of the container the image sits in. This results in a uniform presentation of the image across all possible platforms without having to compute the image size at all.

There are three things Perry likes about riding.
1. Sense of Freedom.
2. Wind in his face.
3. And uh, that um, ahh, um, just had it...um...
Wind in the hair: Iowa doesn’t have a helmet law, and I’ve been told some prominent riders took helmetless rides before the official tour.
Here you go...
Hillary and Chelsea have had a hard time getting cleared to land at secondary airports, thereby curbing Hillary’s campaign. Seems very few of those airports are cleared for twin seat broomstick landings.
Here you go:

Walker on ethanol, March 7, 2015
“While I do not support the mandate, I do not have a problem with ethanol...
However, it is clear to me that a big government mandate is not the way to support the farmers of this state...
Central planning will not help our family farmers, protect our environment, or provide jobs.
The free enterprise system must drive innovation to relieve our dependence on foreign oil, not mandates from the state or federal government.”

the training wheels aren’t quite visible
Oh yeah! These are my kinda Pols. Rock it Scott and Joni!
Nuthin’ better than to see two good people whom I respect riding on two wheels.
Walker has my vote for sure and not just because of this. He is exactly what this country needs at this time in history.
Ted Cruz would be good but he isn’t the right person right now. He could be soon though...
Yeah. I know I’m gonna get slammed for speaking my mind but so be it.
: )
That’s funny.
Copy the photo location address and then paste it in my FReeper mail box; I’ll post it.
“Contrast Walker and Perry, on their Harley’s, to this...”
I’m contrastin’ Jane, and I’m sure embarrassed of what I see. The only thing more effeminate is the picture of 0 throwing a baseball.
haha!
...In his Mom jeans ;D
