Tuesday in in Orlando at the Florida Economic Growth Summit, former Gov. Jeb Bush (R-FL) said he was upset and deeply troubled about the debate over the NSA encroaching upon Americans civil liberties by the warrantless collection of bulk data that has now been reformed by the Senate passing the Freedom Act.
Bush said, The simple fact is, we are safer today because of the Patriot Act, and this notion that somehow you create a false narrative, as many on the left, and a few on our team, but mostly on the left, that our civil liberties are being violated. Its not true, there is no evidence of it. You can say it all you want but if its not true then why would we give up something that has kept us safe?
He added, Im deeply troubled by this and there is this narrative that is quite dangerous for the homeland.

He talked about Americans instead of Mexicans?
That’s a first.
FU Bush!
There is no credible proof we are safer because of the Patriot Act or PA II.
You have no credibility for claiming something that every agency has already said that PA has not helped anything anywhere....
You are promoting the power of the state and emboldening whoever the next Fuhrer is...
“Our subjects don’t need to worry about their rights. That’s none of their business. That’s our business” - Jeb
Clueless
Rather...exile JEB.
Yes, deport starting with Jeb Bush.
Get a job!
Nobody cares about what you're selling.
Jeb, you’re wrong in so many ways.

Just remember which freepers told us we have to vote GOP no matter what when Jeb ascends as the choice candidate. They will be the ones pretending the past 3 months never happened.
Really? Jeb Bush is stupid enough to believe that the government can protect him. What a dolt. He must think the TSA is doing a great job at the airports, too.
He’s frighteningly ignorant, or is it ‘clueless’?
He’s dumber than his brother!
I am upset and deeply troubled that our political “leaders” will not uphold the rule of law.
They seem more concerned about fraudulently documented foreigners than the citizens.
Refusal to enforce the law is what is broken about immigration.
We can all be comforted by the fact that Jeb Bush is distressed for all of us. His distress can possibly heal and protect the nation.
I wish Jeb would just officially join the Democrats and be done with it.
I can’t take seriously anyone who talks about the importance of “national security” while supporting or enabling wide open borders.
The Bush Neocon Corporatist foreign and security policy since 9/11 would prefer to mine data on our communications as an alternative to taking a hard line with Qatar, Saudi Arabia and other nations that inspire terrorist activity because of the economic relationships involved.
