Her {Democratic Commissioner Ellen Weintraub} resolution said: "I further move that the Commission direct [counsel] to exclude from the rulemaking any proposal affecting political activity on the Internet."

A temporary victory?

Is this the end of the "net neutrality" nightmare?

There's this thing called the First Amendment to the Constitution of the United States that would have quickly put an end to such a crazy idea.

All victories against evil are temporary.

In this case however the good guys are aided by the fact that leftist voters tend to opiate themselves with all the frivolities the internet can provide. While they are ambivalent on the government screwing up things they don’t understand (like the healthcare system) wrecking the internet might be the only thing that could drive them to care what their masters are doing.

These people will not stop - they are not spineless REPUBLICANS. They keep hammering, trying ways around existing laws and the Constitution, and will use any means possible to achieve their goals.

Wow, some Republicans can take a lesson from these Democrats that actually LISTENED to their constituents.

“...s this the end of the “net neutrality” nightmare?...”

Nope. They’ll be back. It’s a setback to the them, nothing more.

It’s what they do.

I for one do not trust a thing she says. Just a casual search on the web reveals -

US Government (Obama) Cedes Control Of The Internet .....
Obama signs order outlining emergency Internet control ....
Kerry: Internet Needs Stronger Regulations to ‘Work Properly’ ......

Their desire to control the web is there. Only for now, the regulation on political activities is halted. Temporarily. I still don’t see how they propose to ‘regulate it’.

So they agree they have the power to regulate Speech, a First Amendment violation.

They’re just not gonna do it quite ...... yet.

a victory for GOP commissioners who feared Democrats were targeting conservative sites...

I love the phrasing here - "feared" targeting? As if it had never happened before? What was the IRS doing again?

They'll be back.

Wool-over- eyes.. Yep.. She said “political activity”. That leaves them wide open to regulate anything they deem otherwise. For example, hate speech. This is not a victory, this is a play on words. Internet control is here, for the good of the children and everyone knows it.

This is the FEC, not the FCC. The FEC is the Federal Election Commission. They’re the ones that let the Clintons and Obama get all kinds of foreign money.

It’s not over until WE say it’s over. We the people had better start acting like this is our country, and demanding our representatives represent us instead of lord over us.
