My wife and I were on that ship about five or six years ago. We went from New York to Bermuda and back. It was quite impressive cruising past the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island, where my grandparents entered the country as immigrants.
I’m glad we didn’t take that cruise this year.

As many cruises as Wifey and I went on.. We never bottomed out. Rammed anything.. Or otherwise had a calamity asea. I like cruises, and coincidentally have one booked on that ship from Boston to Bermuda in mid October. Hope they get it squared away by then.-Tom

Now how did that happen, with the sea levels rising so much? And I hope they fine the bejeezus out of the captain for damaging the reef.

They must have hit an iceberg that broke off from one of the melting polar regions.

I must be a really bad person because everytime I hear of one of these cruise ship mishaps, I just laugh myself silly.
I really think those things are so pointless and overpriced.

Hmm.. What happ’n to auxiliary power? These things have more than one way to skirt a reef. Never sailed em before.. They just announced a new Hugh ship too.

Those ships use azipods for propulsion. Which all they are is giant electric motors that drive the screws and can swivel 360 degrees.

A few times.. We used to be RCCL.. Mostly Caribbean and panama canal.. Now for convenience and to get to alaska easily out of San fran but not as easy as it used to be... Princess. Seattle and Vancouver are now the main jump on and off points.
We have done Princess to the Greek Isles and such and Southeast Asia.. Decent rides.. But no QE9 lol

Hmm.. What happn to auxiliary power? These things have more than one way to skirt a reef. I bet they had a failure in the AZIPOD propulsion system.
That can happen without a power loss.
Azipods are what the new ships use now.
They save about 10% on fuel. -Tom
