Since a federal jury on Friday sentenced the convicted bomber to death, the [Boston Marathon] finish line suddenly seems to be a place of ambivalence. Fresh flowers are accumulating. A sense of sorrow lingers in the air. Sightseers who come to snap a photo feel a little self-conscious. Residents train their gaze on the line, and the conversations turn to death and disappointment.
I was shocked, said Scott Larson, 47, a records manager who works near the finish line. The death penalty for Boston.
To many, the death sentence almost feels like a blot on the citys collective consciousness.

The Masshole libtards think it is unfair to execute that murdering Muzzie ... cause he is so much like one of them!
It’certainly not the 1775 Bostonians that’s for doggone sure.
Doubt this lasts much longer as a Republic.

Where are all of the airhead groupies?
An article so insightful it required three creative writing types to contrive....
What a bunch of freaking losers.
“To many, the death sentence almost feels like a blot on the citys collective consciousness.”
WTF? Only a liberal would think that way.
It’s incredible to me that every time some Jihadi murders innocent people the “leaders” of our society rush to the microphones to explain them, excuse them, apologize for them.
But, that being said I do like what the mayor said “Mayor Martin J. Walsh said... I dont think theres any punishment too great for him.
Agreed Mr. Mayor, agreed.
FGS. Amazingly, the Boston jury got it right.
Just yet another story to invent public opinion. Find a few people who agree with your premise (that killing a fanatical mass murderer is somehow bad), label it as common opinion, publish it to guilt those who disagree with the premise.
A common recipe used for any liberal agenda. Just ask a pizza parlor who said they wouldn’t cater a gay wedding.
Let him go! Give him a job!
If only you people could see the real way to solve his lack of self esteem!
His groupies are writing for the New York Times.
No thought at all of closure for the dead and their families.
“Just yet another story to invent public opinion.”
You are so right!
Total B.S. Everyone I know wants the little bugger to die. The Boston Globe only polls faulty lounges in Cambridge.
Really? He blew up people and injured scores and Boston is supposed to feel sorry for him?
But they are OK with the drone killings by their god Obama in a country far away. It just NIMBY.
Whiney, hand wringing, cowardly libtard slime alert!
Masshole state motto “
Other peoples money and other peoples blood”!

This is the NYT, and all the libs in the media are all trumpeting the same thing, and I am telling you, it isn’t the case.
This is all BS.
I live here and talk to a wide range of people, both liberal and not (yes, there are conservatives up here) and without fail, everyone I have talked to has been on board with putting this POS down.
What you are hearing from the NYT, Boston Globe, and other media outlets are that people are uncomfortable with it, and I am telling you, most aren’t. It is just that the libs who spread this stuff are talking in a big liberal echo chamber.
This is the second article like this I have seen, and it is crap.
