They depend on the historical ignorance of the American public. But how can they say this when the suicide bombing in the Holy Land continue with the sanction of various imans? Say it represents the most extreme examples of Islamic practice, but it is Islamic none the less.

I wonder if the US Attorney concluded his remarks with “Allahu Ackbar!”

Ortiz said, "Make no mistake, the defendant claimed to be acting on behalf of all Muslims. This was not a religious crime. And it certainly does not reflect true Muslim beliefs."I suppose that, for the sake of consistency, we ought to rename the famous "Not a True Scotsman" Fallacy the "Not a True Muslim" Fallacy.

Interesting that Carmen Ortiz felt compelled to further define her statement by adding “true”.
Is Carmen Ortiz uncomfortable in simply saying: “And it certainly does not reflect Muslim beliefs”? It appears so.
“And it certainly does not reflect true Muslim beliefs.”

I have never heard a prosecutor defend a defendant before. It is very odd. Do you suppose Obama ordered her to say that?
To: Mears
Do you suppose to work in this administration you have to sign a contract saying you will always defend islam, no matter what the evidence shows?
I just find it so strange for a U.S. attorney to come out and make statements like that on her own. What would be the point?

The full text of the message reads:
Im jealous of my brother who
ha [hole] ceived the reward of jannutul Firdaus (inshallah)
before me. I do not mourn because his soul is
very much alive. God has a plan for each person.
Mine was to hide in his boat and shed some
light on our actions I ask Allah to make me a
shahied (iA) to allow me to return to him and
be among all the righteous people in the highest levels
of heaven.
He who Allah guides no one can misguide
A [hole] bar!
I bear witness that there is no God but Allah
and that Muhammad is his
messenger [hole] r actions came
with [hole] a [hole] ssage and that
is [hole] ha Illalah. The U.S.
Government is killing our innocent
civilians but most of you already
know that. As a M[hole] I cant
stand to see such evil go unpunished,
we Muslims are one body, you hurt
one you hurt us all, well at least thats
how Muhammad (pbuh) wanted it to be [hole] ever,
the ummah is beginning to rise/awa [hole]
has awoken the mujahideen, know you are
fighting men who look into the barrel of your
gun and see heaven, now how can you compete
with that. We are promised victory and we
will surely get it. Now I dont like killing
innocent people it is forbidden in Islam
but due to said [hole] it is allowed.
All credit goes to [hole].

That’s a great point. Without its religious status, which it doesn’t deserve, Islam is much more vulnerable.

And don’t forget, it is just a tiny extremist element that believe in jihad. Unfortunately, it only took two Islamic extremists to pull off the Boston Marathon bombing and they were two young men who had been welcomed into the United States with open arms even being given welfare benefits, public schools and college scholarships. Even the super smart people of Cambridge could not figure out that there was something dark and sinister within their hearts. They interacted with them every day for years, put on an act of being perfectly assimilated all-American boys until one day the nation woke up to learn that they were the ones responsible for the horrific murders of four people at the Boston Marathon.
