With word emerging today that ABC News chief anchor George Stephanopoulos gave “$50,001 to $100,000” to the Clinton Foundation, the network will soon face the Brian Williams Quandary — is its top “newsman” trustworthy when delivering news.
Stephanopoulos only disclosed the donations to the nonprofit when asked about them by a reporter from the Free Beacon (choosing to control the story through a statement to friendly liberal outlet, Politico).
In dozens and dozens of stories and interviews on the Clintons, the chief anchor never mentioned his hefty gifts. In fact, he fiercely questioned author Peter Schweizer last month about his book “Clinton Cash,” making unilateral statements that the book was hogwash.
“As you know, the Clinton campaign says you haven’t produced a shred of evidence that there was any official action as secretary that supported the interest of donors,” Stephanopoulos said. “We’ve done investigative work here at ABC News, found no proof of any kind of direct action. And an independent government ethics expert at the Sunlight Foundation Bill Allison wrote this: ‘There’s no smoking gun. No evidence that the changed policy is based on donations to the foundation. No smoking gun.’ Is there a smoking gun?”

I don’t understand the controversy. Has Stephy been claiming that he’s something other than a Clintonista hack? If he has, is anyone believing him? I thought one of the refreshing things about him was the fact that the mask was completely off.
Someone out there in Freeper land can link into his Obama interview where he conveniently covers for Obama when (Obama) confuses his faith ... which is it Muslim or Christian?

You always knew he was a Democrat political operative with a job at a news station for the purpose of grooming what the future people turning to that channel would hear.
It’s like having Mark Levin doing the nightly news on some other channel. Only he would not deny what he is like this guy has.
George has a proven track record of throwing softballs to Dem candidates and even correcting their mistakes. He corrected Obama when he mentioned his “Muslim faith”. On the flip side, he does not hesitate to sandbag Republican candidates using Democratic talking points.
Bottom line: He was a Clinton operative from the gitgo and should never have been hired by a reputable news organization.
Where is the Republican outrage and outcry demanding that ABC fire him?

Based on what happened three years ago with the PBS lady who corrected Romney over Obama in a debate, I would think they would demand one known liberal, one conservative and be done with it.
Think it is time for Congress to demand that any news organization hand over their donor records as well as the Clinton foundation.
Let’s see how deep this really goes.
