For weeks, it had been assumed, leaked and reported that President Obamas library would come to this citys South Side. On Tuesday, it finally became official.
In an announcement posted early in the morning, the Barack Obama Foundation said the presidential library would be built in a park here, and not in New York or Hawaii, which were also considered. But the cheery message did not say which of two sprawling Chicago parks would be home to the library, nor did it mention a possible legal challenge to the project.
All the strands of my life came together, and I really became a man, when I moved to Chicago, Mr. Obama said in a videotaped announcement posted on YouTube. Thats where I was able to apply that early idealism to try to work in communities in public service.

Imagine that. An untraceable library, dedicated to nothing. Where's it from? How'd it get here? Books on how to organize a community of ne'er do wells. Golf for Black Girly men.. How to amass 17 social security cards without ever trying. How to be born without a trace. How to Create Home Grown Explosives and Test Them On your Neighbors. How to Spend 20 years in Church as a Muslim. How to be the Perfect Seem Straight LGBT Couple.. Be A Foreign Student Born in This Country. Best Dog Recipes. Con your Way Through Life.

“How to Spend 20 years in Church as a Muslim.”
Reverend Wright’s “church” taught communist Black Liberation Theology.

All the strands of my life came together, and I really became a man, when I moved to Chicago” Is he just saying this in order to justify his choice of the White Sox over the Cubs? (only joking/having fun and no disrespect meant at all towards ChiSox fans from a Northsider fan here).

Oh no!
We can't possibly put the library of the first African-American president of the United States in the park named after a slave owning president, either Washington or Jackson. Or perhaps named after a Confederate General?
Or was it named after Jesse? Or shoeless Joe?

That's his official presidential quote.

I’ve never been to a presidential library well at least inside one, and I wouldn’t be starting with this one..
I have a library card for the research library at the FDR library in High Park, but I’ve not been in the presidential library itself..

I get your sarcasm. You are mocking the media, who were surprised the messiah did not win the Olympics bid for Chicago just by his mere presence. Well done.
To: lbryce
I doubt it would be on the southside.
Lie-barry is sort of like a museum. Kids probably would be to scared to go to that Lie-barry because it is too much like a museum. Michelle told us that kids on the southside don’t feel comfortable going to museums.
