Reports: 'White Appreciation' restaurant in Milliken subject of bomb threat
The Milliken restaurant that caused a stir last week when it announced it would hold a White Appreciation Day during which white patrons would receive a 10 percent discount, may have gotten more attention than its owners bargained for.
The restaurant, Rubbin’ Buttz BBQ, was evacuated late Friday because of a bomb threat, according to media reports. That night, owner Edgar Antillon posted a reference to the threat on his Facebook page, under a photo of barbecued meet.
“Waiting for the all clear. Pulling out the prime rib that people missed out on due to the bomb threat. (Investigation still going on),” the post stated.
On Saturday, a sergeant with the Milliken Police Department said she wasn’t authorized to speak to the media and could not provide any details about any incident.
The threat came at the end of a day on which Antillon and co-owner Miguel Jimenez, both Latinos, had announced their plans for the controversial event on June 11 at the restaurant, 903 Broad St.
On Friday, Antillon told The Tribune the event began as a joke, but then they began discussing it and decided to try it out. He said they realized there is a Black History Month and Hispanic Heritage Month so they decided to celebrate white Americans.
“I hope that people get the right message,” he said. “I hope people have the decency to understand what we’re trying to do.”
He also said that while the sign in the window said white customers would get the discount, anyone who asked for it would receive it.
“We want to make it clear, (white people) are the target audience for that day but nobody is going to be denied service. Nobody is going to be denied a discount.”
Antillon did not return a phone call late Saturday seeking additional comments.

So then let’s not pretend anymore. Whites are seen as the enemy of other groups. And the enemy of useful idiot whites. It’s not about equal pay, or equal rights, etc
It’s turning into a war. How sad and what a shame such a great experiment is falling apart after only 230 years.
I cant think of another example i history where a majority gave so much money to a minority or minorities to appease them for no good reason only to have their hatred grow stronger. It makes no sense. Why would a majority vote themselves into ruin? These groups must know if whites fall, this whole thing of ours falls.

I thought we were going to get 12”- 24” from what they were saying and I looked out to see it barely covering the grass. Longmont seems to be in some kind of micro climate when it comes to snow.
Well, they DID get huge attention to their business. Probably the cheapest advertising anyone has ever gotten. Hopefully the nut cases who are threating them will be caught and dealt with.
Sounds like the BBQ might be pretty decent as well. Anyone tried it?
Wow, I knew I recognized that town name. I was over in Lyons dealing with the aftermath of the flooding at the CEMEX plant, and took a drive up to Milliken to see the railroad damage up there. Scooted over to see the Great Western Shops in Loveland. Also a year later I was vacationing in the mountains and drove a friend up to Johnstown from her cabin near Guanella Pass on the Grant side... we had Thanksgiving dinner at her neice’s home.
One of my bike routes is through Johnstown and Milliken. Broad Street is the main drag, as it were, in Milliken. I will make it a point to stop by there next time, and people can laugh at me in my Lycra all they want.
Also, so much for the party of tolerance and acceptance. Hypocrites!
And another surprise in the news, the sun came up this morning.
Typically 50% of restaurants fail in the first six months. Half of the remainder fail in the six months after that. So while location is extremely important, so is publicity. And they are at the point where “any publicity is good publicity”.
