The list of leaders and thinkers who support an Article V Convention continues to grow. Michelle Malkin, political commentator and syndicated author, recently voiced her support for the Founders' solution to a runaway federal government:

"I love the idea of an Article V Convention," Malkin said. "Yes...two thumbs up."

Oh no! Critical of the War on Drugs (AKA, war on the self!)

The disgusting encroachment on our fourth amendment rights by the stupid war on drugs, it should be relegated to the status of alcohol. Period.

Unless you’re for flashbanging an infant in their crib because someone might have a half-burnt roach.

an article V convention will be as controllable by proponents (conservatives) ad baltimore was controllable by it’s mayor. this is a pandora’s box you’re opening folks, and if we go this route i guarantee you that with soros money and media influence, you can kiss the second, first, fifth, and possibly other ammendments goodbye - never to be seen again.

think...do you really think the media is gonna sit idly by and let this opportunity slip by?

I hate the war on drugs. I’m just saying Malkinneeds to put away the medical mj if she thinks COS is going anywhere.

Sorry. We have a domestic enemy who won’t be swayed by tweaks to the constitution. The states already have all the constitutional authority they need to nullify unconstitutional actions. COS is a slow moving, bloated, unwieldy process with too many ways for it to be hijacked or scuttled. The very best outcome we could hope for is term limits or balanced budgets or something like that. The federal government will never stand for any of it. All it takes is one member of SCOTUS to make the whole thing go away. You’re staking your liberty on that?

COS is not a solution in and of itself. It’s a codification process to firmly establish the legitimate authority of the States to do what needs to be done.

We have a constitution. It’s a good one. How’s it doing? Is the government paying any attention to it? We get 32 states to agree to amendments that are only going to support the cause of liberty. That means we don’t let in Trojan Horses from Unions, Sodomites, Communists, Gun-grabbers, etc. Billionaires, the media, education, the Rats, the GOP, Birchers, Unions, entertainment will put everything they’ve got behind stopping it, so I would be shocked if we get that far. Let’s see we do get through it. Remember we already have a good constitution that the government pays no attention to. Will the government pay any attention to anything that comes out of COS?

Glad to know that. The WoD has been used as an excuse to steal our freedoms for far too long.

It’s already explicit and implicit in the constitution that states, not any one branch of Fedzilla, have final say in what’s “pursuant to the constitution.”

Will the government pay any attention to anything that comes out of COS?

Do we have the direct election of Senators? Are alcohol sales legal?

Of course the government will obey the amendment, as long as the amendment is clear, like term limits for Congress.

And this process reinforces constitutionalism, since the Article V amendment process was given to us by the Founders in the Constitution for situations such as this.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Indeed! It is a good one. So?....Do our three branches of government pay any attention to it? Nope! Why would they pay attention to a new and improved Constitution?

Laws and constitutions will not corral evil!

Fundamentally, our Constitution rests upon a foundation of Good Will. The good will and honestly of its citizens to abide by the Constitution is its foundation. Unless this foundation is repair no number of laws, no matter how well worded and defined can corral evil.

After working in the field for quite a while, I think all recreational drugs should be legalized and available at a reasonable price. There will be a flurry of deaths at the beginning, then it will stabilize.

The catch, if you are a recreational drug user you forfeit all healthcare and welfare bennies.

If the Sallys or some other charity wants to help you, no problem, but not on the citizen nickel.

I wish there were an edit option. Let's do this again.

I agree let’s NOT mess with our system.

What we need is to bring back American jobs.

To America.

That is the problem now. We are buying everything from everywhere else.

American need jobs. Americans. As long as America is thriving (as in Americans working) then our system continues and we get good representatives.

However we should not send jobs to China or anywhere else. That is terribly skewing our system, and will eventually result in a massive backlash.

We need to return jobs to America. Not mess with the system, just bring back jobs.
