The Baltimore police investigation into the death of a black man from injuries sustained in police custody fails to support some charges filed by the city prosecutor, CNN reported on Thursday.
Citing officials briefed on the separate probes by prosecutor Marilyn Mosby and police into the death of Freddie Gray, the television news network said the lack of support for charges from the police findings could allow lawyers representing the officers to undercut the prosecution.
Gray, 25, sustained spinal injuries after being arrested, and his death on April 19 sparked protests and a day of arson and looting in the largely African American city.
Mosby charged six officers on Friday with counts ranging from false imprisonment to manslaughter and second-degree murder. She made her announcement hours after the state medical examiner ruled the death a homicide and a day after police turned over their findings about Gray's arrest.
Officials familiar with the probes say the homicide investigation run by police at most contemplated a manslaughter charge, not second-degree murder as Mosby charged one of the officers, Caesar Goodson...

Oops
That won’t stop the racist prosecutor from trying to railroad the officers.
I would not be surprised if most or all of the charges against the six police officers are dropped or thrown out before the case ever gets to court.
The beogi DA has NOTHING!
She looks like a thirteen year old.
This is my shocked face.
Here we go again.
There’s no doubt that the officers have been over-charged. But someone on the police force is responsible for the injuries that killed Gray and that person or persons shouldn’t be able to walk away scott-free.
How do you know that? Several witnesses have said that Mr. Gray was trying to injure himself, for whatever reason.
Somebody commented after a press conference that she talks like a seventeen year old, not a thirty-five year old professional.
I watched an episode of ‘Cops’ last night. They had a car chase perp hop out of his car and start running on foot. 2 Cops caught up to him and took him down. One cop had his knee of the perp’s head, while the other cop had a knee on the guy’s neck. Did not look too pleasant for the perp. Gray’s neck could have easily been broken during the initial takedown. Who knows.
Several witnesses? There were media reports of one witness, who was in the other side of the van (and thus could not even see Gray), who speculated that he was trying to hurt himself. Who are the other “several” witnesses?
One witness, who later recanted.
I’d pay a little money to see her SATs, her college transcripts and her bar exam score.
“She looks like a thirteen year old.”
Acts like it, too.
Which cereal box top got her the quota token for law school?
(My apologies to all the good African-American lawyers out there, we all know there are many.).
I have no idea how it happened. All we know for sure is that Gray's spine was in one piece when he took off running and then after less than an hour in police custody it wasn't. Somebody did something to him.
One witness, who later recanted. After death threats.
From which side?
Oh, good, Mr. Anti-Cop is here.
