“I would estimate that in his lifetime, Redford has used five or ten times the energy of the average man his age.”

And a similar proportion of drugs. Stop hogging the bong, Robert!

Natural gas is an excellent alternative -— for now. It is abundant, relatively cheap and burns cleaner than coal. I say for now as it too emits CO2 from burning and once the enviro-nazis finish taking down coal, they will come for gas saying the same thing they say about coal now: A fossil fuel pollutant whose emissions contribute to global warming, and must be shut down.

They are unrelenting in their desire to make the world rely on “renewables” including wind turbines (slicing and dicing millions of birds) or solar (setting on fire and frying birds). Another option, of course, is nuclear power but that to is unacceptable (radiation at the beach for a tan is fine, but powering our lights is a no-no).

lol. I’m a private enterprise believer. If there were money in renewables, somebody would have been al over it by now. Or maybe I’m missing something. I usually am lol

On a BTU to BTU basis, Natural gas will emits less CO2 and other pollutants(NOx, SO2, HG, etc) than coal. But if you put in wind or solar, you would be emitting nothing, except a few dead birds.

Seems to me a lot of federal money has gone down the windmill financing these things. Lots of people in the US want to get rich. If the money was in the “renewables” they'd be out there making em.

Look at it like this.

Wind and solar have high capital costs and low operating costs(wind and sun are free, except there is a small royalty or rent to the land owner).

Coal and natural gas have a lower capital cost but higher operating cost because they have to buy the coal and natural gas.

The pollution tax credit that the feds hand out to wind/solar is timed to the depreciation schedule of the equipment to offset the higher capital cost.

It is very common for govts to give tax breaks for capital manufacturing equipment, pollution control equipment, or ag equipment. In most states these type things are not subject to sales or use taxes.
