Maine recently joined 35 other states this year in filing the Convention of States (COS) resolution calling for an Article V convention limited to proposing amendments that impose fiscal restraints on the federal government, limit the power and jurisdiction of the federal government, and limits terms of office for its officials and members of Congress. The Convention of States Project now holds the record for filing the most identical Article V resolutions in a single year --and it demonstrates that state legislators are realizing their power to correct our nation’s most pressing problems through this long-neglected constitutional process.
As Alexander Hamilton said of Article V in Federalist 85:
“Nor however difficult it may be supposed to unite two thirds or three fourths of the State legislatures, in amendments which may affect local interests, can there be any room to apprehend any such difficulty in a union on points which are merely relative to the general liberty or security of the people. We may safely rely on the disposition of the State legislatures to erect barriers against the encroachments of the national authority.”
So far, the state legislatures of Georgia, Alaska, and Florida have answered that call of duty to help erect barriers against the encroaching national authority by completely passing our Article V resolution. And many of the 35 filings this year are still working their way through committees and legislative bodies. Although some are no longer active for this legislative session, COS has seen major progress in its efforts among the states in the two short years since Citizens for Self-Governance started the project. In states where our resolution does not complete the legislative process this year, we will work with our sponsors to re-introduce it at the start of the next legislative session.

The count is still 3 down, 31 to go, as far as getting applications past both houses of state legislatures.

For those who think the Article V process is too risky, I ask, "What other options do you see?"
To summarize from a previous post by GraceG:
1. Elect More Republicans - Failed due to RINO/Uni-party confluence.
2. Article V Convention of States to propose Amendments - Needed to try to take power from the federal government back to the states and reel in the federal leviathan.
3. State Nullification - Last ditch effort to try to take power back from the federal monster, though by this point it may be too late.
4. State Secession - Could either end up peaceably like the breakup of the Czechoslovakia in 1993 or a brutal:
5. Civil War II like the first one.... The longer we wait on #2, the more likely #3, then #4 and finally #5. .
So, do we do nothing and just wait for # 5?
Quick review: We need 34 states to pass an application, then Congress shall, by law, call a Convention of States as soon as it receives applications from 2/3 of the State Legislatures. That's 34 states. We now have 30 working on it. Amendments are proposed and voted on at the convention. Each Amendment must be ratified by ¾ of the states in order to become part of the US Constitution. That’s 38 states.

Great! But remember that the 2/3 of state legislatures Threshold for calling the constitutional convention now requires 38 states, not 34. (This, because Dear Leader informs us there are a total of 57 states now - a number he clearly picked up from the international organization for Islamic states and terrorist organizations, incidentally, but there it is. — 2/3 of 57 states means we need 38 legislatures now instead of 34. So please plan accordingly. )
Just because a resolution has been filed, does not mean it will get passed. I do not seen the Maine House which is dem controlled passing such a resolution.
God help us. With all the corruption in our government and the psychotic press reporting on this, I fear nothing good will come of it.
It’s design is wonderful. It’s the application and mutations I worry about.
This is good news. But let’s not forget that all parents have to start homeschooling their children on the federal government’s constitutionally limited powers, under two pages of such powers, since their children probably aren’t going to learn it from the schools.

Note that if unconstitutional federal taxes are stopped then although federal taxes should go down drastically, state taxes must rise if citizens want their states to provide same “government” services that the corrupt feds are now unconstitutionally providing.
But since the states hopefully won’t have the “administrative” (ahem) costs of federal services, state taxes should not rise nearly as much as fed taxes should fall.
The 17th Amendment needs to disappear.
Unless Sibley is a state attorney general, his suit will also not be granted cert by the federal courts.
Sadly, Mr. Hamilton was incorrect.
