The vast majority of States have no “weapons registration” requirements for mere ownership of a large variety of guns and ammo.

In Michigan we have concealed carry with a permit, open carry without a permit and no registration on any long guns. We also have a good stand your ground law.
I can’t remember the last time there was a mass shooting in Michigan that wasn’t part of another crime or gang thing.
You have to remember though, the cops will hit back vigilantes just as hard as they will ISIS. Maybe even harder because it fits the goals of someone in power.
