The Washington Monthly, a small, bimonthly leftist magazine funded largely by left-leaning philanthropies, sprayed out an email on Friday entitled: “WEEKLY WRAP-UP: Who’s the new Teddy Kennedy?”
The magazine promises its story will answer the question: “Who is doing a better job of carrying Teddy Kennedy’s torch: Elizabeth Warren or Cory Booker?”
Strangely, the actual piece itself doesn’t mention former Massachusetts Sen. Ted Kennedy by name at all.
In any case, The Daily Caller wants to help. Here are five Americans who are doing a great job at being “the new Teddy Kennedy.”

Surely Washington has a wealthy drunken rapist who pushes Communistic policies.
Must also be able to: 1) cheat your way through college and get kicked out; 2) cheat on your wife and get an annulment from the church because of HER conduct; 3) wear a neck brace to court when you are undergoing an inquest into the death of a young woman and its the only day you ever wear the neck brace; 4) publicly accuse Robert Bork of all sorts of nefarious things of which he is not guilty but that you yourself have done; 5) negotiate behind the back of the president with the Soviet leadership to undercut your country’s policies; 6) be drunk in public; 7) be adored by a bunch of stinking hypocrite “feminists’ who care about ‘women’s rights” but not a damn about the suffering of women abused by you; 8) be put on a pedestal by the bootlickers who call themselves “journalists’ and whose acts have no relation to any such profession.
Some rquired criteria: Be a fat drunken blob.

There will not be a “New Ted Kennedy” as there is not a credible Democrat Party to allow him to emerge.
The original Ted Kennedy came about from a Democrat Party that actually represented middle-class American value, to some extent, at least, and had a history of being God-like to a HUGE PORTION of the white population (thanks to FDR in WW2 and JFK being shot). Most of those whites are dead now and the whites that replaced them are much more open to either party. That was the only reason that Kennedy could go so far left and still get huge support from people (like my parents) saying, in effect: “Sure he’s a jerk, but there is no way in hell I’m ever voting Republican”...even when they live lives much more Republican than the Democrats now stand for.
About the only people that the Dems still have in the bag are blacks and there is simply NOTHING on the horizon that will change that, so we give it up, just as conservatives in Israel and Europe understand that they will never get the Muslim vote. Hispanics are at least partially in play, as they voted 45% REPUBLICAN throughout the South in 2014 (as even Hispanics want border security and want to keep their guns). And whites are totally in play.
That is why the Dems need a new set of captive voters (i.e., Illegals). They have lost their white captives. That is what the media REFUSES to report, except in a few places. In a balanced media, the headlines would read something like “What Can the Democrats do to Win Back the White Vote”. In the South, in 2014, the REPUBLICANS won the white vote roughly 80-20. That is a HUGE number and even HUGER turnaround, from when Dems ran the show here. Yet do you see any stories on it?
You can bet the Dems are desperately trying to figure out how to change that...but doing so behind closed doors. I can tell you one thing they must be trying to do, which is get rid of minority office holders, like Shelia...as they have made the Democrats laughing stock for half of the country.
We’ll see if they get any results.
Sen. Chris Dodd was the other half. Real class act those two.
As for who is currently the most partisan far left Demohack in the Senate, I nominate Sen. Dick Durbin (Turban). The even more liberal nutso’s are in the House, BTW.
Every time an illegal murders someone or kills someone in a DUI wreck, you can thank Ted Kennedy.
Can’t thank him the way I’d like to, his Arlington grave is too heavily guarded. But on wet days you can smell the Scotch fumes rising from the Swimmer’s plot.
Who cares? Just throw some bourbon, cocaine and an old Oldsmobile at em. That ought to keep them busy.

Excellent analysis, Bob. Middle class Hispanics may eventually come our way.
The ruling class allows gays, blacks, and feminists to predominate in policy and grievances. Political correctness was imposed in full during the late eighties and early nineties to mute real discussion and analysis of what is happening. The libs nearly always win, and face a token opposition of liars and malleable con artists who call themselves Republicans, but actually do nothing but take orders from the the left and join in the plundering. From their point of view, under such circumstances, who cares who is actually in the American politburo? Ted Kennedy transitioned into it not long after Chappaquiddick.
The libs don’t need an inspirational sort to run their agenda. The press does their marketing for them. And political correctness, selfishness, and raw government coercion and power don’t lend themselves to inspiring people to anything.
Thanks. We actually don’t need to own Hispanics, just have them split their vote...then they have no effect, as happened throughout the South in 2014. People may forget that 2014 was the year that the libs dumped tons of money into Texas to try to starting winning again - but whites voted 75% Republican and Hispanics voted 45% Republican. All the Dems had were blacks and a handful of gay college students in Austin. Republicans won every seat by 20 points - this was better than any year in the past. It will be long time before the Dems make a comeback.
...and the Hispanic vote is very interesting. Publicly the Dems and the Media (and Rove, for other reasons) are saying “If the Republicans want to remain a major political force, they must embrace Comprehensive Immigration Reform”. Privately the Dems/Media are saying: “HOW THE HELL DID THE REPUBLICANS GET 45% OF THE HISPANIC VOTE (throughout the South)”...and they have to be polling the hell out of it.
But the Dems won’t like what their polling will show, which is:
1) Hispanics also support border security (they know what’s down there and want to keep it down there).
2) Hispanics also like guns
3) Hispanics also don’t like gay marriage
4) Hispanics also like a government which doesn’t punish small business
The only issues where the Dems do well with Hispanics is on deportation and amnesty, which is why they keep trying to link the two to border security by saying: “So you seal the border, what are you going to do with the XX Million that are here - deport them all?”.
Best answer for Republicans is to lay low on that issue. We’ve gone decades without doing anything, we can go a few more years that way. The proper answer, at least for the time being, is something to the effect of crossing that bridge when we get there - so saying something like: “The first priority has to be securing the border...as to the people that are here, we’ll deal with that ONLY AFTER the border is secured”...that will get us victories and buy us time to deal with the illegals - no reason to be drawn in just to lose Hispanic votes over it, at least not today.
