don’t get too sanguine about your solution...should you discharge a firearm against a ‘protected class’ member, killing him, your life as you know it will be over...unless you somehow have video evidence of an imminent threat to your life, the force of the government will be used against you...merely establishing that they were encroaching upon your property will not be considered justification...

The way I see it, when it happens, we are going to already be in a total collapse so things like constitutional law aren’t even applicable. You will have a bunch of warring politicians trying to send the military in conflicting directions/giving conflicting commands and Military abandoning posts to return to/save their families. Same for the police to a greater degree...IE chaos.
The ferals will have set the country’s cities on fire and the associated fallout. pretty much mean that when they arrive at our door (and lets face it, what group of liberals will stop them, being unarmed and anti-violence) that there are two choices. die willingly or unload on them.
Since we have the toys to play with and a burning sense of self preservation, they will be stopped at the figurative front door. Permanently.
In a SHTF scenario, I really do not see another outcome. They may well overrun the areas bordering the cities I’ll grant you that. But once they get to American areas they aren’t going to do so well.
