CONFIRMED: Court records show Freddie Gray was receiving a structured settlement from Allstate Insurance and attempted to convert it into one lump sum in early March
EXCLUSIVE: The Fourth Estate has learned that Freddy Grays life-ending injuries to his spine may have possibly been the result of spinal and neck surgery that he allegedly received a week before he was arrested, not from rough excessively rough treatment or abuse from police.
The Fourth Estate has contacted sources who allege that Freddy Gray received spinal and neck surgery a week before we was arrested, and was allegedly receiving a large structured settlement from Allstate Insurance. The surgery is allegedly related to a car accident in which Gray was involved.
Sources allege that Gray also attempted to refinance his structured settlement into one lump sum payment through Peachtree Funding.
If this is true, then it is possible that Grays spinal injury resulting from his encounter with the Baltimore Police was not the result of rough-handling or abuse, but rather a freak accident that occurred when Gray should have been at home resting, not selling drugs.

Uh...it is unlikely to the point of impossible that he was already receiving a large structured settlement payment for injureies from a car accident only one week earlier.
I’m calling this allegation BS.

I first read this at Conservative Treehouse, before it was posted here. Since “Journalism” is done/toast, Forums and “just a bloggers” have to pick up the slack and remember the rules learned in High School, at least THREE (3) sources on an article. “Me, Myself, and I” don’t count. It is amazing among MSM journalists and some forums, the articles are just linked and not fact-checked. Journalists have become amazingly lazy, but understandable since they have to wait for the talking points to be faxed in from the White House.
Yup, fact checking is seemingly a lost art in “new journalism.” And, worse, what often happens is that site A will post an unsourced, anonymous story, sites B, C, and D will pick up the story, and site X will then report that “B, C, and D report ______,” without mentioning that it all traces back to a single shaky report.
My first reaction to the story was, this Freddy person may have had a switch blade or small knife hidden in his belt (in back) and he somehow managed to cut his spine against it in the cop car, or when he was on the ground....
thats it! jounalism in a nutshell.
Nice work.
You could be a real journalist, not the fake ones we see on TV. :)
This threat should be locked and pulled. Why hasn’t it?
Well, I assume because it is an exemplary example of Freeper investigation and debunking.
Wish the title had been changed to reflect that.
