Take the old man’s money. Go to confession after Cruz gets elected.
BTW, I go to AC three or four times a year. Is that a sin in Catholicism?
I really enjoy and am a pretty good guy besides that. :)

If Adelson wants to contribute 100 million dollars to Ted Cruz or other conservatives, fine. Let him.

So long as he knows these men have values and standards in opposition to his Vegas values.

The basic impulse behind gambling is greed -- a basic sin that is the father of many other evils. Greed, covetousness, and avarice are repeatedly addressed by Scripture

Everything from the first "greed" on is correct. But the minor premise - "The basic impulse behind gambling is greed" - is questionable. Many gamblers (including myself on the less-than-a-handful of occasions when I've gambled) have a rule that they will leave when they've lost a predetermined amount - a plan that contradicts the notion that they hold much hope of coming out ahead.

Would Christian conservatives accept campaign contributions from men who grew rich [...] from selling pot

Why not? Should they refuse campaign contributions from men who grew rich distilling liquor or brewing beer?

Adelson’s money is cleaner than Soros’ money.
