Where the Left and Islam Intersect

Curious how the godless left and Islam share a critical aim. They both wish to subjugate infidels, though how infidel is defined differs. But who the infidels are isn’t. We are, of course, the infidels. We of western virtues and values. We who hold to Judeo-Christian beliefs. We’re obstacles to glorious futures for both. Both want us consigned to dhimmitude. Yes, dhimmitude. That’s second class status, with tribute being paid for the privilege.

Marked differences and tensions exist between the left and Islam, to be sure. But is the left using Islam for its ends, and Islam -- for the time being -- willingly being used?

Wrote Stephen Schwartz for First Things in February of this year:

For some time, an argument has been made that the liberal left, in refusing to examine the problems of Islam, has betrayed its Enlightenment roots. That is, while secular, feminist, and protective of free speech in dealing with its Western peers, the liberal left has been accused of abandoning its heritage in its quest for political correctness regarding Muslims.

For the left to get us to dhimmitude, that means “deconstructing” our culture and society; upending our mores and traditions; shattering our institutions; demeaning faith and marginalizing the faithful. I think the Left thinks that Muslims have been oppressed and exploited by Jews and Christians, and that once Jews and Christians are put in their place, Muslims will become benign and peaceful.

The Left thinks Muslims are useful in putting Jews and Christians in their place, and when that is accomplished, the Muslims can be slaughtered as the useless eaters they are.

I’m going with your option #2. The left will try anything to destroy Christians & Jewish religious beliefs & practices as this is the fabric from which America evolved. AND as we all know the left wants the destruction of America so they can “re-make it” better.

Totalitarians operating on parallel tracks…religious, secular. At the intersections there may be hudna for various crossing-gate purposes. Some disgruntled seculars will board the “peace” train. In the end, the Marx brother’s heads will be littering Islam’s tracks.

When the Left begins getting their throats slit and thrown off buildings after cheering ISIS on for killing Christians they might wake up. They don’t get that they are considered as being even worse than Christians to the Muslims.

They might find out the situation is reversed, and that it’s islam dictating terms to the left.

Individual chapters are included on the Patriot Act (I was persuaded that it is a GOOD thing); the democratic flip-flop on Iraq once G.W. Bush implemented what they agreed with Clinton needed to be done; the driving components of the current anti-war movement; as well as chapters on individual personalities who are major spokespeople of the Left. Horowitz covers a lot of ground, and he covers it concisely and clearly. Unholy Alliance is richly informative without ever being boring or plodding.

This book is so illuminating that I simply cannot do justice to it here. I love people who reason so clearly that they help me get my own reasoning clear. Horowitz is just that type of person! In the terrain of mindless clichés (no-blood-for-oil, etc.), he is a breath of real fresh air."
