Wisconsin's Shame: 'I Thought It Was a Home Invasion'
NRO ^ | 20 Apr 2015 | David French

Cindy Archer, one of the lead architects of Wisconsin’s Act 10 — also called the “Wisconsin Budget Repair Bill,” it limited public-employee benefits and altered collective-bargaining rules for public-employee unions — was jolted awake by yelling, loud pounding at the door, and her dogs’ frantic barking. The entire house — the windows and walls — was shaking. She looked outside to see up to a dozen police officers, yelling to open the door. They were carrying a battering ram.

She wasn’t dressed, but she started to run toward the door, her body in full view of the police. Some yelled at her to grab some clothes, others yelled for her to open the door. “I was so afraid,” she says. “I did not know what to do.” She grabbed some clothes, opened the door, and dressed right in front of the police. The dogs were still frantic. “I begged and begged, ‘Please don’t shoot my dogs, please don’t shoot my dogs, just don’t shoot my dogs.’ I couldn’t get them to stop barking, and I couldn’t get them outside quick enough. I saw a gun and barking dogs. I was scared and knew this was a bad mix.”

Perhaps, but as a Governor, it’s not his job to sit back and watch. It’s his job to lead.

“How would a firefight in such a situation even play out, though. Civil wars are not put together overnight.”

One doesn’t need to wonder, just look around the world. If it happened it wouldn’t be the 55th Massachusetts vs Hoods brigade. That is how governments roll up civil wars in this era.
I think it would turn into people who did and ordered this being killed and being under constant deadly threat. Pumping gas, someone walks up in a hoodie and shoots them. A bomb goes off near the police agency that did the raid. Weather underground did this to police.
There was a news reporter brought along on the raid according to the story. In Mexico today, bloggers and journalists who support the government vs the Cartels are assassination targets.
This increases demands for security by the oppressors. This taxes the oppressive state even more.

Modern civil wars look like Iraq, Mexico, etc. Very nasty and bitter, often lasting decades. God forbid this should ever happen here.
But I fear sometimes that it actually could. Government seems utterly determined to become more weaponized, ie,,prosecuting legitimate political opposition. And the people clearly have a red line of freedom and have limits beyond which they will not be pushed.
Government wont stop its roll, and the people will not surrender into full totalitarianism.
That clearly means a fight will eventually happen.

A lot of people need to be spending a lot of years behind bars for this. Gestapo terror tactics have no place in America.

This ain’t 1776 all over again, is the idea. It could not play out in that fashion. It would be a lot of ugly festering.

A spiritual approach would be the most likely to produce peace, but it’s hard to do even fundamentalism right any more. It has its own styles, its own fads. Still, with an earnest acknowledgment that there is a God and that God wants both justice AND peace, blessings could still be seen.

The worst sin possible isn’t even stunts of government oppression.

I found that the structure of this NR article made it difficult to read.

Someone please correct me, but it appears from the article that this invasion took place in 2010. If so, why is it being reported only now?

It does lack background, but maybe only now the litigation has gotten the official court nods to allow the case to be publicized. Shameful in the USA that that should ever be a question in a court case over alleged election corruption, but these little black robed Napoleons are dangerous.

Exactly. That would be the best route. People who wish for a 1776 or an 1861 have no idea of the bitterness and misery a civil war would be. Especially in this modern era where they turn into cell structured, very personal, and very bitter affairs.
They drag on for decades.
A spiritual awakening would indeed be the way. Yet, I cannot fail to notice that everything spiritual is under a full force multipronged attack from our government.

Religion is under almost constant attack by the revolutionary socialist government.

I think a spiritual awakening is an good, but not the full answer. Government is determined to fight the people, not the other way around. They way I see it the people are standing where they have always been, and the government has decided to relentlessly attack them.

SO it will be war unless either the people surrender all firearms, accept the end of religion, accept full government control of child raising. Accept full government control of their lives, diet, healthcare transportation, reduced free speech, universal surveillance and domestic spying, etc.
OR, unless the government gives up its designs.

Unfortunately, I do not see the people surrendering their last political strongholds, or the government throwing up its hands and walking back on their path.

Spiritual awakening will be the foundation of anything else sane that isn’t to be a long term festering.

And I will stand pat on this: yes, there is a God.

The reason God is so unclear to most of us is that we’ve been refusing God in our spirit. We expect things to go like the devil conducts the world. Selfishly, with no thought of a God of explicit grace. This will keep throwing us onto our keisters in anger and bitterness with every failure as there is no overarching hope in sight.

A long, slow climb out of that pit is how I know something (though doubtless not everything) about how God acts.

With the JBT’s having surprise you lose that fire fight 99.9% of the time. If you know a raid is coming and had some prep time you could inflict some serious hurt on them. Look at Waco and that bunch of untrained people who repelled F troop and they LET F troop walk off carrying their wounded and dead. Had the Waco nuts been serious and had any training they could have killed a bushel baskets full of the raiding party.

Once the shooting starts, it’s on, there is no turning back. I hope and pray it never comes to this but the left has no concept of boundaries you don’t cross in their warped power trip thinking.

The gag order is ostensibly imposed to maintain the secrecy of a criminal investigation. One has the choice of complying with the gag order or going to jail for contempt. The jailing would be analogous to a jailing of a material witness against whom there were no charges. Such actions by the state are indeed Constitutional if due process is followed.

And, of course, the PATRIOT Act gags any recipient of a National Security Letter, including any communication with an attorney.

Of course, in the Wisconsin scandal, due process was used to justify a sham that was intended to punish political opponents. This happens all the time in the third world, which US progressives admire and seem intent on joining. When exceptions to fundamental liberties are tolerated, one should expect that they will continually erode.

Name me one gag order, even from the FISA court, that includes prohibiting one from contacting a lawyer!

In the original article, each example included a claim that each "suspect" was warned not to contact a lawyer.

As if the home invasion, the appropriation of private property, and the verbal abuse weren’t enough, next came ominous warnings. Don’t call your lawyer. Don’t tell anyone about this raid. Not even your mother, your father, or your closest friends.

I, too, found this article to be disjointed and incomplete. My impression is that the victims only recently felt safe to talk about their oppression by Wisconsin’s judicial and law enforcement officials.

Believe me, living in Minnesota with the main local news channels from the Twin Cities - we were fed lots of news about the furious liberal reactions to Scott Walker and his reforms.

Thugs from Chicago and places further east were bused in; they took over the state capitol with the help of local AFSCE workers; Democrat legislators fled to Illinois like fugitives - not to escape Walker, but to avoid allowing votes in the Wisconsin legislature which the Democrats would surely lose - so they fled to prevent a quorum; hence no votes cold be taken.

Then they filed recall petitions against conservative judges, Scott Walker, and several GOP local legislators to force new elections. If my memory is accurate, I think only one GOP politician did not get reelected, so the GOP retained the majority in both houses.

These Democrats/liberals/leftists are nothing more than thugs.

Scott Walker is a fighter and will not blink at political opposition. He will confront them, and WIN!
