Last week Rep. Jackie Speier, D-Calif., introduced a bill in Congress asking states to ban sexual orientation conversion therapy, often abbreviated as CT, for minors. California is one of two states that have prohibited licensed professionals from offering the practice, which includes efforts to change not only sexual orientation but also gender identity.
While the congressional bill is only a resolutionit encourages states to bar the practice rather than proposing the heavier lift of a federal banthe idea that CT is dangerous and should be banned is gaining momentum ...
What do we actually know about the practice of CT and its impact on often vulnerable patients? First, the therapy has been discredited across the board by all reputable practitioners, researchers, and professional organizations with any knowledge of the practice. The American Psychological Associations 2009 opus on the topic concludes that there is insufficient evidence to support the use of psychological interventions to change sexual orientation and warns against the harmful effects of trying. At least 10 major groups with knowledge of the issue, including the World Health Organization, echo this position ...

Well they say they are “born that way”. But if that’s true, then what do homos do, hold their noses and have sex with women often enough to keep passing along the gay gene? Otherwise this characteristic would die out, as gays can’t reproduce without engaging in non-gay behavior or through artificial means, which has only recently been possible.
Surely they don’t expect us to believe that every so often the human genome is mutating to kick out a gay person. If that were true we’d have an equal percentage of the population with two heads and other genetic anomalies.
Unless of course they’re not “born that way” after all, just just choose to be that way, like other people choose to engage in criminal behavior, worship trees, or whatever.
Not so sure about animosity to the Gipper, as that the devil likes to take the most innocent, virtuous thing he can find (innocent and virtuous in a relative sense) and corrupt it to the maximum because that is how he punks God.
Strangely enough, “redneck” is a fairly popular meme in the homo crowd. Those strong, wholesome, Christian/religious rednecks make big sport for the devil when he can do it. And those who aren’t very spiritual can be goaded into kicking their keister, feeding the illusion.
I like what you said there. Very good...
Being born doesn’t mean just genetics.
And why would they want to? They're having a gay ole-time.
They don't have to get dates, enter into commitments, they just get out there every night, mix it up with strangers, and ejaculate till they drop.
Liberala are “anti everything” that isn’t liberal. A mental disease they have for sure.
1 Corinthians 6:9-11 indicates that people struggling with same-sex temptations can turn straight by the grace of God.
Envious?
That’s pretty much what takes place in bath-houses frequented by the homosexual core constituency.
I have seen some homosexual lament their proclivity. I think those who were lured into it have second thoughts.
The conversion therapy isn’t going to work for them all.
That's their main lie. The truth is; they are recruited by "chicken hawks" before they can discover girls.
I think some of the attempted therapies in the past were both demeaning and futile: for instance, electro-convulsive shock, aversion conditioning, etc. But these are therapies which were used for a wide variety of psychiatric maladies in decades past, including depression, psychosis and bipolar disorders --- not just homosexuality.
These have been superseded by better approaches. All therapeutic intervention should not be discredited, just because some approaches in the 1950's and '60's rightly fell out of favor.
I mean, Good Lord! Now the APA wants to "treat" gender dysphoria with castration and a lifelong regimen of induced hormonal abnormality!
Counseling a kid who wants to find greater harmony via reducing unwanted sexual urges and strengthening his normal response pattern is both professionally ethical and a compassionate response to the young person's felt need.
No, are you?
How about abortion of a gay baby? Is That ok?
You made the post.
You got to choose... victim or willing
I guess you never really knew any. They are such miserable souls.
It has to be voluntary, as in wanting to get it right before God. Because people were pressing them to do it, probably will not work.
I would not want to be in Speier’s shoes on Judgment Day
Yeah, did I say something that wasn’t true?
Sin has its pleasures for a season.
