Robert Menendez mobilized his staff to secure a visa for a Brazilian actress who posed nude on the cover of Sexy magazine; he stepped up for a sultry Ukrainian student who wanted a plastic-surgery consult; and he directd a staff member to “call Ambassador asap” in order to reverse a visa denial to a 22-year-old Dominican model.
The young women were all paramours of Dr. Salomon Melgen, 60, a married eye doctor and one of Menendez’s biggest donors, prosecutors charge.
The New Jersey Democrat’s efforts on behalf of Melgen’s lovers came to light in a 68-page indictment against the two men unsealed this month.

My guess is NONE of this is unusual for congressmen, i.e. doing favors for big contributors. Menendez problem is he crossed Obama on Cuba and Iran. He is being made an example of what happens when party members “step out of line”.
We need pictures in order to objectively asssess guilt or innocence.
Most politicians are bought for either a rich individual or a powerful entity. Bill and Hillary Clinton demonstrated how a politician could get rich and powerful by letting the world that they could be bought and paid for. All most all of the Democrats are doing this and many of the Republicans have jumped on the bandwagon.
Menendez double crossed Obama which is the only reason that he was indicted.

Don’t we have a wonderful country where a toad like Melgen can show up, make millions being a third rate hack doctor, and thus indulge all his fantasies by buying women he could never even meet if he had stayed at home?

There's a major flaw in this statement. Menendez is such an unprincipled sh!tbag that he never would have "double crossed" Obama in the first place if it would have saved him from the trouble of an indictment. I don't know why so many Freepers think he gives a sh!t about Cuba, Iran or anything else of the sort.
He only "double crossed" Obama after everyone knew he was going to be indicted.

That's possible, but Obama could really care less about what happens to Menendez, so the indictment served as a warning to all of the others.

One would doubt that democrat Menendez’ conduct is any different than many other members of Congress. The difference here is that Menendez is protesting Obama’s anti Israel stand, hence the fed indictment as Obama sends the message to anyone who opposes him.
