After teasing reporters earlier Friday that he was set to reveal his presidential ambitions for 2016, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee went on Fox News to instead say that he will announce his plans in his home state next month.
"Come to Hope on May the 5th. You'll find out what's going to happen," Huckabee told Bret Baier on "Special Report" Friday night. "I think it'll be worth tuning in for."
Huckabee told Baier that, if he ran, he did not think he needed to win the Iowa caucuseswhich he won in 2008to earn the GOP nomination, but that he wanted to exit the first-in-the-nation contest with momentum. He downplayed expectations for his performance in New Hampshire, which typically supports more moderate candidates, and said he hoped to do well in South Carolina, the nation's third nominating state.

First day fundraising is expected to exceed 200 bucks
Agreed. He had his chance, it didn’t work and he just does not excite people.
At least we have Kristie Kreme and Linda to siphon votes from Bush. Too bad Romney didn’t run.
Oh please. Why dont he, Bush, Rubio and Graham just go away somewhere and let the conservatives handle this election? *sigh*
Because their purpose is not to win, but keep a true conservative from
winning. Divide the conservative vote which allows a RINO to win.
We have seen this rerun several times.
The main reason Huck poses a treat is because he is a very good speaker.
He can sell the snake oil. He isn’t bad on many things, but my belief is that he is a major compromiser.
We need a person to reverse Obama.
Perry, Huck...
By the time we’re done, there will be ten people siphoning off delegates from Cruz.
The GOPe and RNC couldn’t be happier.
despite anything they do.
Cruz will win.
I hope he can win the popular vote like Reagan did, but I will tell you, the Reagan model scares the living —— out of the GOPe and RNC. They have studied up very hard on how to prevent it again.
A big field, is their number one way. I actually think they coordinate with the Democrats to make sure they vote for the most Leftist Republican running.
Rubio sacrificed his senate seat, and that puts a Dim in play for it. Rubio most likely just sh!t-canned his political career.
All this could work to Cruz’s advantage. Real conservatives will support Cruz above any other candidate; so, he should have a lock on that base. Moderates and liberals will split among pretty much everyone else, with no one candidate pulling in support equal to Cruz’s conservative base.
He should just stay home and not spend the money, use it for something helpful.
The Huckster is not a conservative, I just wish he would go join the democrat party where he belongs, iMHO he is a big phony.
No.
Running for president keeps him out of the pool halls.
All Huckabee will succeed in doing is divide the conservative vote, which is probably not by accident. I will always believe that he helped McCain win the nomination in 2008.
Mike! Go away!
Huckabee loves big government and loves illegals
He is a marxist and a con man
He eats to much
Cue the “Aw geez” guy...
