After teasing reporters earlier Friday that he was set to reveal his presidential ambitions for 2016, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee went on Fox News to instead say that he will announce his plans in his home state next month.
"Come to Hope on May the 5th. You'll find out what's going to happen," Huckabee told Bret Baier on "Special Report" Friday night. "I think it'll be worth tuning in for."
Huckabee told Baier that, if he ran, he did not think he needed to win the Iowa caucuseswhich he won in 2008to earn the GOP nomination, but that he wanted to exit the first-in-the-nation contest with momentum. He downplayed expectations for his performance in New Hampshire, which typically supports more moderate candidates, and said he hoped to do well in South Carolina, the nation's third nominating state.

another “stalking horse” for the GOPe
get lost huckster
KEEP YOUR DAY JOB HUCKABEE !
We got enough, Mike.
I think I’m going to vomit.
I completely agree.
Huckabee generates a solid portion of evangelical votes, but not enough to win, and not enough to effectively govern.
He will possibly score, allying with someone much different, and I suppose probably as a VP candidate.
I suppose he will run, because that will most likely raise his visibility for the VP spot.
I really want Huckabee to understand, he doesn’t excite anyone.
He just doesn’t.
This ding dong sacrified a hit show and Rubio sacrficed his Senate seat because of their egos. They add nothing to the race.
Guess Gomer’s gonna make another run at it, hey?
Huckster, Rube, Grahamnesty, etc. are being paid handsomely to make sure we don’t nominate Ted Cruz.
Their “firebrand” campaign is fizzling.
The can’t win meme is dead.
They have to flood the field with phony candidates in order to nominate their designated Democrat in an R jersey loser.
Two words: Maurice Clemmons.
Oh HELL no!!
Why bother?
The Merv Griffin of Fox continues to annoy and bedevil the American public...
Oh please. Why don’t he, Bush, Rubio and Graham just go away somewhere and let the conservatives handle this election? *sigh*
EGO.
Sold any pardons lately, Huckleberry?
Gee, no thanks, Mr. Huckabee...
I am a diehard social conservative, but I’ve never been comfortable with Huckabee. I don’t hate him. I’ve just never been convinced that, when push came to shove, that he would stick with his convictions. Maybe that is why liberals never bothered to make up a definition for a “Huckabee” like they did for “Santorum”. Maybe I’m wrong, but that has been my assumption based on some things he has said.
As a social conservative my top tier is Cruz, Santorum, and Jindal. I appreciate the role that Huckabee has played in trying to fight against the deterioration of our culture. But, as far as the Presidential race goes, I wish Mike would stay home and not muddy the waters for others.
Announce next month?
He must have received a lot of negative responses from his teaser of earlier today.
