The Guardian has a charming set of articles about an Indian-American woman from Indiana who was just convicted of feticide and neglecting a child. This goes along with a White House petition to fully pardon her.
There are two sides to this divergent discussion about why Purvi Patel was arrested and convicted. On one side, we have a story of a woman, living in a very religious household, worried about consequences, who has a miscarriage, throws the baby in the dumpster, takes herself to the hospital, and then is unduly punished and prosecuted for having a miscarriage. On the other, we have a tale of a woman who talked about purchasing illegal abortion drugs, had an illegal DIY abortion, threw a living baby in the dumpster, and sought medical care just for herself.
Those are two pretty different stories, right? Now I know that its controversial to say this, but taking a living baby and hucking it into a dumpster is reprehensible. Regardless of your feelings on abortion, a baby outside of anyones body isnt trash, and deserves life-saving medical care if possible. Before this story, I would have thought that most people would agree with this.
But no. No. In the vehemence to not block any abortion services whether obtained legally, within the bounds of the law, or not, whether its even safe for the mother herself or not we have people defending a womans choice to leave a baby to die, alone, in a dumpster.

There are some sick S.O.B.’s in this country that need to have the same thing done to them, “an eye for an eye.”
Folks say things never change?
I was banned for a 2 weeks, more than a decade ago, for posting a pic of a petri dish with aborted fetal remains in it. You couldnt even tell what it was without my description.
This is the truth. People have always needed to see it.
I concur, Dave.
Interesting.
Liberals— Save the whales. Kill the babies.
That should be posted on TV every nite along with pictures of those in congress who support it!
“we have people defending a womans choice to leave a baby to die, alone, in a dumpster”
Of course we do. Our president campaigned for laws in Illinois allowing people to kill by neglect babies that survived abortions. How is this surprising anymore?
When they can’t even state things factually, it speaks to how wicked they are.
A miscarriage doesn’t mean a live birth. Just trying to get people to believe black is white.
TV commercials constantly show the horrible effects of smoking. They need to show these pictures for all to see.
I would agree, but I wonder how long it would take for people to become immune to the horror of it. I feel that I am in the minority of people who don’t enjoy gruesome violent movies and video games.
I would wager that many who partake in said games and movies share my same views.
