It comes down to this: Which do we think is more important, families or fish?
...With different policies over the last 20 years, all of this could have been avoided. Droughts are nothing new in California the state has suffered from them for centuries. The difference now is that government policies are making it much worse. Despite the awareness around this issue, liberals continue to develop and promote policies which allow much of Californias rainfall to wash out to sea.
Specifically, these policies have resulted in the diversion of more than 300 billion gallons of water away from farmers in the Central Valley and into the San Francisco Bay in order to protect the Delta smelt, an endangered fish that environmentalists have continued to champion at the expense of Californians. This water is simply being washed out to sea, instead of being channeled to the people who desperately need it.
While they have watched this water wash out to sea, liberals have simultaneously prevented the construction of a single new reservoir or a single new water conveyance system over decades. This has happened during a period in which Californias population has doubled. It is clear that improved or additional infrastructure would allow for greater conservation before droughts especially as the population continues to explode but California has not completed a major water infrastructure project in 50 years.
Largely because of these policies, 99% of California is in some kind of water shortage, according to the United States Drought Monitor, and 67% is experiencing extreme drought conditions. Thirty-seven million people are estimated to be affected.

Great essay. I think she has true grit. And I don’t buy all the bs about how she “destroyed HP”.
She didn’t crib squat. Liberal idiocy is not the intellectual property of anybody. It’s simply a matter of who has the cojones to speak about it publically.
She didn’t do Lucent any favors either.
“Fiorina is a feisty lady and thats a compliment. I hope she gets in the presidential race if just to shake things up and go after the Rats on the war against women issue. Also, she can highlight the failure of liberal policies in her home state.”
I am not a fan of hers, but I would love to see her debate Castro in the VP debates.
Cruz/Fiorina vs Hillary/Castro.
That takes the Latino/Women issues the left is so proud of out of the equation.
I was driving through southern California some years back when Fiorina was running against Boxer(?). I heard her campaign commercials on the radio and thought she had the right message, and wondered about the vitriol against her on FR, since by California standards she sounded like George Washington, despite her questionable tenure at HP.
Agreed. And it doesn’t say much for the intelligence of the board who brought her in, if she was so inept. We need her to slash and burn the liberal crap all the way to the election.
Every one with a brain the size of a mustard seed, could see this coming 25 years ago. But, because of these “GLOBAL WARMING” idiots and the liberal, socialist and communist cabal, has stopped every attempt to come to grips with this problem. So, instead of taking care of this problem, these California politicians decided to spend the people’s money on speed trains to no where, to create union jobs, the third leg of this triumverate. So, all you voters of California had better suck it up, because you voted for these people, in spite of the warning you were getting.
CF has been in Iowa a number of times recently. She talks a good game and comes across as very sincere, and has drawn praise from almost everyone. On the other hand, no one is clamoring for her as president. These aren’t normal times and a candidate who seems attractively corporate isn’t going to cut it these days.
Though a much different person, Michele Bachmann was very well-liked in Iowa, but also failed to attract much support for president.
And she had substantial support from both Dems and Independents in that race. No small feat for a pro life Conservative.
She needs to air her message or billboard it so the idiots here California can get it through thier thick skulls. Instead we hear Governer Moonbeam on radio and TV telling people that drought is caused by man made climate change!
Loser.
"Destroyed" it by making it the biggest PC company in the world ?
So what? Do you have to pass some sort of purity test to speak the truth? You are going to find plenty wrong with me as I will find with you.
She hit the nail on the head and for that she should be applauded.
That doesn't mean that whe's wrong about everything.
Just by implication.
The circular firing squad is early this election, ain’t it?
