Francesca Hogi, 40, had settled into her aisle seat for the flight from New York to London when the man assigned to the adjoining window seat arrived and refused to sit down. He said his religion prevented him from sitting beside a woman who was not his wife. Irritated but eager to get underway, she eventually agreed to move.

The NYT. Here we go again.
She should have started eating a BLT, to make him move.
They should have booted him off the plane, simple solution, then he doesn't violate his principles.
She should have told him to ... off.
Where is NOW on this? Crickets.
I posted this as I have seen this exact thing happen before on a international flight and was asked to move.
Never. No how. No way.
He’s a “protected class”. He’s allowed by virtue of his religion to discriminate against women.
However if a Christian doesn’t want to bake a queer cake....
i’m sure there was room for him on the wing
I’d move. No problem.
To First Class with a voucher for 2 more free tickets.
If they don’t comply - they can KMA
Huh? It actually is a problem. I had some friends from a Baptist church who made a trip to the Holy Land on El Al. On the way back, an Orthodox man found he had been seated next to a woman, who was one of the members of the group, and he pitched a fit, completely humiliating her and demanding that she move.
Fortunately, El AL is experienced with handling these loons, and the flight attendant told the man that he was the one who would have to move. She found him a seat somewhere next to a male. But there have been other flights where it has gotten so bad that the plane can’t take off and the Orthodox man in question has to be removed from the flight. They’re a very difficult group for Israelis themselves to handle.
Why is the simple solution never looked at: If the passenger won’t sit down, put him off the plane.
Simple solution. If your beliefs or comforts require separation then pay for it. Allow customers that need extra space to buy extra/empty seats.
I was on an international flight where such a request was made, and I was one of the people that was asked to move. I said no.
Once on a flight from Newark to Las Vegas I was placed next to a bipolar (she told me so) black woman who weighed 350 lbs. She encroached 1/3 into my seat and wouldn’t stop talking to me the entire flight, eventually asking me out for a date in Vegas. I politely said “I’m busy”. Silly me, I could have invoked religious belief to get me out of that situation, but I’m not an Orthodox Jew.
That brings up an interesting thought.
I think I'll find me a new T-shirt with huge bacon graphics on front and back. I can wear it on any flight I make...just to see who I can p!$$ off. Hopefully, it will be a Muslim. I might even dab some Liquid Smoke on it for full effect.
NOW is an anti-Christian front group, obviously,
since they are not consistent on any of their supposed issues with regards to any religion or culture besides
Western Judeo-Christian culture.
Non sequitur. What is my ‘told’ that I should be doing as it does?
