Kansas became the first state to ban a common second trimester abortion procedure when Governor Sam Brownback, a Republican, on Tuesday signed into a law an act to halt what lawmakers said are "dismemberment abortions."
The law that goes into effect on July 1 prohibits the use of dilation and evacuation. The bill says the procedure can result in the fetus being extracted in pieces.
Supporters in Kansas have called the procedure horrifying while women's healthcare groups have said it is considered the safest way to terminate a pregnancy in the second trimester.
The law allows for the procedure to preserve the life of a pregnant woman or when the mother's health is in serious jeopardy from the pregnancy....

Good thing that dem scumbag wasn’t elected Governor.
In less than 5 years, Kansas went from the home of late term abortionist Tiller the butcher to the first state to ban this horrible 2nd trimester procedure.
Cue the feministas and gays to scream ‘religious intolerance’ and threaten to boycott the state and big business to threaten to leave the state
The leftie editorial writers (that’s all of them) are going to poop.
...and why is Tiller no longer doing abortions? A man is rotting in jail for doing something society should have done.
Gotta give Brownback props despite his full-term status.
It never ceases to amaze me how the left will get hysterical over protecting some obscure species, but have no problem dismembering human babies. It’s so evil it’s demonic. Thank God for all who are continuing to fight to protect life.
You must be a humanist to prioritize human babies over other species’ offspring.
There is decency in the heartland. What more can one say? A state willing to stand up for the defenseless in a culture of murder promoted by progressive liberals.
Its a start in the right direction.
Very good point. Some people simply step forward to do what is right, then suffer the consequences. Laws sanctioning the murder of innocent people are laws couched in evil.
I believe that life made in the image of God should be protected. I don’t have a problem with protecting all species, just not an advocate of murdering innocents.

Paul spent many a year in prison...
But you don’t have to guess where he is now - and forever.
