BS I’m on Medicare and my supplemental insurance went from $40 a month to $110. I had to drop it for another supplement with a $6000 deductible.

Fair enough I guess. All the imaginary “we need healthcare” horror stories were invented too.

Partly that’s because the Affordable Care Act, by design, has had almost no effect on those who already had good health insurance:”

My premium went up 52%, my deductible up60%. Yep, no effect on my at all! I wonder how much he got paid to write this crap!

Hey Pauli,
Here’s my invention:
My insurance was cancelled and I was forced to a replacement with half the benefits at about twice the costs.
It also is true.

Obamacare isn’t perfect, but it has dramatically improved the lives of millions. Someone should tell the voters.

If it is so great..wouldn't the voters already know it and appreciate it???...What an arrogant statement..don't worry krugman..o will soon step around the voters with eo

Paul Krugman is the prototypical proof of the old adage that men readily believe that which they wish to believe.

In other news, The Soviet Union under Stalin was just peachy-keen. NYT has used enough trees to bury all the dead in pine boxes from their biased BS stories.

“At a deeper level, however, what we’re looking at here is the impact of post-truth politics. We live in an era in which politicians and the supposed experts who serve them never feel obliged to acknowledge uncomfortable facts, in which no argument is ever dropped, no matter how overwhelming the evidence that it’s wrong.”

Wow, such an expertly nuanced statement. So many shades of Gray to consider. So much intellectual gravitas on display. It could only come from an ivy league intellect and from one so superior and so learned.

I feel so stupid. I didn't know all this crap you just said.

and that is how the left operates- invent a lie and it becomes ‘truth’ thanks to the main stream media-

These horror stories are NOT made up- but he apparently thinks that saying that they are is enough to make the truth disappear- and apparently he’s right because they have succeeded at this dishonest disgusting practice for a long time now- they no longer even try to hide their lies, they just throw them in our faces and dare us to contradict them

The truth is there for all to see or hear.

2009: cost of US healthcare, $2.3 trillion
2011: cost of US healthcare, $3.0 trillion
2015: cost of US healthcare, $3.0+ trillion

2015: federal expenditures, $4.0+ trillion
2015: federal tax revenues, $3.0 trillion

so... the govt that can’t afford it’s current bills is going to jack it’s spending from $4 trillion to more then $7 trillion?

how much will tax revenues have to rise in order to cover the $7+ trillion/yr?

ans: more then double the current rate

My company had to change plans because the one we had went up nearly 100%, the new one was “only” about 40% higher. The deductible went up and, where the prescription used to be co-pay only, now I have to pay full price until I reach the annual deductible. In other words, what was a $30 co-pay is now full price (over $380.) until I reach the deductible threshold of $3,000. Same with Doctor visits, I get a bill after any visit for the full price until I meet the magic 3K.
