I am no UCMJ expert, but it seems to me the article 99 is more serious than the article 85. The reason, and the article allude to this, is that Bergdahl deserted in a combat zone and went to the enemy. My quick research suggests thousands did desert in Iraq and Afghanistan, but many left before deployment and after already serving tours. Many only received one year jail time. I suspect Bergdahl is in for a longer prison term.

Any FR veterans want to weigh in on article 104 not being charged???

I’m looking forward to the presser coming up to see what the actual charges will be. Listening to several on Fox News I think it’s likely they’ll be an Article 32 hearing.

Jennifer Griffin stated the Pentagon said there’s been no unlawful command influence from the political civilian brass on the charges coming from Gen. Milley but I don’t believe it for a second.

Thousands? I'd like to know where you found that info. The MSM would have had a field day with numbers like that.
