Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl, the U.S. soldier who was recovered in Afghanistan last spring after five years in captivity, faces charges of desertion and misbehavior before the enemy, according to his lawyer.

I thought we were at the point of Bergdahl’s being judged and sentenced over six weeks ago! I’m sure of it. So what has changed? Looks to me like nothing has changed at all.
More wheel-spinning and delay of justice by O’s people.
Just drag it out another year and a half.
Compare this photo to the one you posted: Is there a reason he holds some people by the torso -- but others he only goes for the shoulder?
FANTASTIC!
His defense should just say he was on undocumented leave.
Couldn’t this announcement have been made in October of 2012?
Did I ever tell you my prediction that Omar will end up in the Jirga one day?

Yes, MG Dahl did the Article 32 hearing, that has been the ‘delay’ in this case. At least it is my understanding that MG Dahl’s investigation was suppose to be the Art 32.
I was discussing Bergdahl with a retire USMC LTC friend.
He made the comment that because the Army kept promoting him, they must have been carrying him as a PoW instead of either AWOL or a deserter. Friend mentioned Pvt Garwood who went AWOL during Vietnam and joined the VC; the Marines kept him as “unauthorized absence” and gave him a dishonorable discharge when he finally decided he wanted to come back to the States.
Thus how the Army carried Bergdahl these past 5+ years will probably have an effect on any decision.
Knowing only what I've read in the news shamefully abandons, surrenders, or delivers up any command, unit, place, or military property which it is his duty to defend and casts away his arms or ammunition won't be difficult. Perhaps runs away though his motive might come into play there. I suspect they'll plea bargain this, but the misbehavior charge makes a slap on the wrist less likely.
No, the Army investigation was what was held up. Once released it would form the basis for charges, and the comes the article 32 grand jury, and then the trial and then the sentencing.
Would this announcement on Bergdahl be happening right now if the aircraft hadn’t crashed in the French Alps? NO!!!!
Now jug-ears can invite his family back to the white hut and tell them he’ll do everything he can to help their son (who he probably considers as his own). Then they can all have dinner in the new dining room the wookie redecorated.
Nope, you get that for deserting stateside. He deserted in a time of war in a combat zone and he went over to the other side. That is firing squad level.
I fail to see the relationship.
Thank you for posting that link.
Does this mean we get back our swapped Taliban? ... Didn’t think so.
Wonderful news!
Of course a Presidential Pardon is already on the way...
Yeah they not put on firing squard the libs in Wash don’t want that he may have to pay all that back army money
Since the announcement of charges against Bergdahl is HIGHLY embarrassing to Barry given his trade deal with the Taliban, the Army’s timing here is with hopes that another BIGGER news story diverts people’s attention away from said embarrassing story.
