Less than a day since Sen. Ted Cruz jumped head first into the 2016 GOP presidential race, conservatives are fighting over his electability, with Fox News analyst Charles Krauthammer's rip that "we already tried a first-term senator" taking fire from the right.
Even Krauthammer's fans took to Twitter and Facebook to criticize him for being too quick to write the Texas senator off before his campaign even got going and the early primary and caucus states had a chance to hear his message.
Among them was Mark Levin, one of the nation's top-ranked talk radio show hosts and star of the Mark Levin Show.
Levin, on Twitter, wrote: "Krauthammer, who voted for Carter and Mondale over Reagan, tells conservatives what's wrong with Cruz." Krauthammer wrote speeches for former Vice President Walter Mondale in 1980, the year he and former President Jimmy Carter ran for re-election and were soundly defeated by Ronald Reagan.

I’ve had the opportunity to observe Kraut over at least of couple of decades, in fact.
If you care, you can search back through my posts about him even before Cruz came on the scene. He is part of the quisling, loyal-but-not-too-vocal opposition in the DC circuit.
He sat for YEARS politely commenting on how we just had a legitimate disagreement with a legitimate President over bland policies....all the while legitimizing him as a real President. The very idea Obama would have the inkling of an idea of devolving and destroying this country was absurd to him.
He lives and thrives on DC, his ‘gigs’ on TV, his column and how he can best feather his nest. It has nothing to do with today and Cruz, frankly save the fact that his word on Cruz means absolutely nothing to me.
THAT WILL WORK!!!
Go Ted GO!!!
I sent some $$ to help Ted Cruz and plan on sending in a lot more.
Shamefully, Fox is catering to Rupert Murdock, tho they probably have jobs on the line to do otherwise. Hannity may be the trade off to somewhat balance the negative comments from the hired prognosticators. All of which reminds me that the anti Reagan press and many GOP elites declared to the very end that he could not and would not win. He could and he did win, two terms. FOX needs to be careful of how far they let the network slip into just another version of the newspeak their followers left behind. I can live without them and certainly so can a significant number of others.
Cruz looks like a good possibility for that. Will his name prove odious to religious Jews, however, being quite markedly Christian?
Why not???
Watch some Sunday shows. It would have been nice if you’d done that the last 20 years. I’m confident in my assessment
Not sure brilliance is the attraction. Kraut, Prager, Hugh Hewitt and others are listened to by some people not otherwise open to conservative messages at all. Like an opinion halfway house.
Jeez, that would be brilliant.
Not at all.
He’s got some conservative tendencies, but he’s a beltway lifer. He was on the left in our golden age...late 70s through the 80s. He’s right on a number of issues, but he’s tainted by the DC bubble, and definitely not a conservative through and through.
One hell of a team - lots of egos to keep corralled though.
it’s fascinating, the love/hate relationship that exists between the two lines of faith.
Ouch! Zing to the krautmeister.
Charles Krauthammer was a Leninist/Stalinist type communist who supported Jimmy Carter and Walter Mondale against Ronald Reagan. He just plays a faux moderate Trotskyite RINO on TV for disability income.
Trotsky favored the kinder, gentler path to global communism by creating socialist democracies country to country, which would then naturally morph into socialism, and then into full-blown communism. The RINOs of the Republican Party establishment are Trotskyite communists. They are all about building socialist democracies around the world.
Shhhhh don’t tell entropy....or any other FReeper that cares about polls
What a Great Post! That is a winning team for sure. Is there some election rule that candidates can’t name cabinet members during the election? I think I read that somewhere. It always puzzled me why candidates never did that while running.
Cruz or another Obama wonder if voters have wised up?.
You should get new ears then.
