Spiders Have Always Been Spiders
by Frank Sherwin, M.A. *
A University of California Berkley graduate student has discovered two beautiful new species of peacock spiders in southeast Queensland, Australia.1 The student, Madeline Girard, named the two colorful creatures "Sparklemuffin" and "Skeletorus," both of the genus Maratus. They are noted for their ornate mating dances that many viewers find amusing. Are these splendid specimens highly evolved species or have spiders always been spiders?

Spider fossils are rare, only about a thousand fossil species have been described worldwide, but when they are found they always display eight legs, remarkable eyesight and areas creationists predict100% spiders.Obviously -- if they were one of the pre-spider evolutionary ancestors, they wouldn't be classified as "spider fossils".
There’s an even deeper level of dumb I missed on first read — first time I ever heard of a fossil that had remarkable eyesight, or any sort of eyesight for that matter.
..???..I ya..I ya..I gotta run to Altoona to get a bag of fish...outta here"
“........one of the pre-spider evolutionary ancestors......”
...Where did you dig up that old fossil?
Is that another evolutionist myth, fraud or fabrication?
Just because you assume it exists doesn’t mean it does.
How much private sector demand is there for spider researchers?
Have you noticed there’s NOT one ‘missing link’ there’s millions of missing links.
That’s another silly creationist argument — as each missing link is found, they just point to the two links between the (formerly) missing link, its predecessor, and it successor.
My company let go a creationist last year. He was always preaching. No one would work with him. It was such a relief!
They now give the viewer the impression that somehow the animal or insect "willed" a change in their bodies and poof it happens.
That spider there needed to be able to reach its prey by jumping and it is "willed" into the body of the spider by the spider.
Give me a fleeping break.
Another thing - they say that animals can't see color - then why do animals react to the color red as a warning to get the hell out of Dodge?
I tried that once and the girl ran screaming from the bar.
Remember, one definition of insanity is “arguing with an insane person.”
The lack of knowledge is hardly the proof of anything.
Which is why you can’t base science wholly on historical speculation, to the exclusion of observation. Without actual observation of the process, you can never really establish that one form led to another, you will always be making assumptions that you cannot support.
Did you steal that argument from Johhnie Cochran ("If nobody saw the throat slit, you must acquit!")
“Did you steal that argument from Johhnie Cochran (”If nobody saw the throat slit, you must acquit!”)”
Well, when you base your arguments on a process that is by definition unobservable, and therefore unconfirmable, it isn’t surprising that you must resort to ridiculing the very first step in the scientific method.
