Netanyhau Rejects Call to Replace Ambassador Dermer (tells Zero to pound sand)

Israel’s ambassador to the US, Ron Dermer received Saturday the full backing of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, amid chatter in Washington that replacing Dermer may be necessary to restore the working relationship with the Obama administration.

In a statement by the Prime Minister’s Office, Netanyahu reiterated what he had said at the AIPAC conference earlier this month that he “couldn’t be prouder to have Ron Dermer representing Israel in Washington.”

“That is as true today as it was then,” the statement read. “The prime minister has full confidence in Ambassador Dermer, whose service to the people and State of Israel continue to reflect his extraordinary dedication, professionalism, and passion.”

The statement came after White House press secretary Josh Earnest hinted that replacing Dermer could be a gesture towards repairing the relationship. “Obviously, Prime Minister Netanyahu will decide who is the person who is best positioned to represent his country in the United States,” Earnest said during a daily briefing.

Dermer is expected to be on NBC’s Meet the Press program Sunday morning to respond to President Obama recent comments that the U.S. will “reassess” its relationship with the Jewish State.

I know what the Presidents have done, in the capacity of their office, but I really don’t remember what a candidate has said. There are only “three” candidates that matter, in any case ... :-) ...

There is a more PRIMARY REASON why this hasn’t been done. And that has to do more with the USA than anything in Israel.

Consistently ... the three Presidents have said it’s unconstitutional. No US Supreme Court decision has enforced it upon the Executive Branch of the Government. I’m pretty sure that it cannot be enforced in any case, and that there would never be a decision against the Executive Branch on this.

This basically CANNOT be forced upon the Executive Branch of government.

Obama has met his match. Since Obama figures he went to Haaarvard. He forgets Netanyahu went to MIT. now everyone knows if you graduate from MIT Graduate School you have a lot more upstairs in the head than a lowly HAAArvard law school graduate. harvard graduates are like domestic turkeys they have heir heads up in the air that they have a problem, they might drown because the rain coming down might just fill up their conceited mouth and nose/

Reminds me of Bush I insulting Iraq by appointing April Glaspie Ambassador. Then she proceeded to mistakenly give Saddam an OK to invade Kuwait. Political correctness and the US State Department are going to be the death of us.

That was the start of this mess!

Dermer looks pretty honest, so that’s one difference.
Dermer was born in USA so that’s another difference.

It’s time for Ted Cruz, Boehner, and other GOP’ers to attack Obama more fiercely and make stopping the Iranian appeasement priority #1. Obama is immensely weak in this area. Make Valerie Jarrett’s Iranian birth an issue (”double agent”) and block any attempt to confirm Loretta Lynch until Obama leaves office.

Obama’s hatred of the guy most likely stems from a book he co-wrote with a dissident of an oppressive regime. Obama knows Dermer can see right through him.

Check out the book Dermer co-wrote with a dissident of an evil regime about liberty, etc.

yes, N. Sharansky...
(what an honor to co-author a book with Sharansky!)

I’d forgotten about this.
NO WONDER Obama doesn’t want Dermer around town.
Dermer reminds Obama that communist dictatorships are EVIL.
just the opposite of what Tsar-in-Chief Obama likes to hear...

So did Republican presidential candidates know this and lied about it when running? Or were they so out of touch that they really didn’t know this?

It was an "aspirational statement."

If zero disapproves of Dermer, Dermer must be one hell of a man. Probably truthful, forceful, and a straight arrow. Everything that zero is not!

PM Netanyahu recognized Ron Dermer at AIPAC: "who knows how to take the heat."

Natan Sharansky believes that the truest expression of democracy is the ability to stand in the middle of a town square and express one's views without fear of imprisonment. He should know. A dissident in the USSR, Sharansky was jailed for nine years for challenging Soviet policies. During that time he reinforced his moral conviction that democracy is essential to both protecting human rights and maintaining global peace and security. Sharansky was catapulted onto the Israeli political stage in 1996. In the last eight years, he has served as a minister in four different Israeli cabinets, including a stint as Deputy Prime Minister, playing a key role in government decision making from the peace negotiations at Wye to the war against Palestinian terror. In his views, he has been as consistent as he has been stubborn: Tyranny, whether in the Soviet Union or the Middle East, must always be made to bow before democracy. Drawing on a lifetime of experience of democracy and its absence, Sharansky believes that only democracy can safeguard the well-being of societies. For Sharansky, when it comes to democracy, politics is not a matter of left and right, but right and wrong.

Personally, I think this manufactured drama gives the progressive MSM something to talk about, other than the Budget, Hillary, 0bamacare, Yemen, and of course the total failure known as Iran’s race for nukes, off the front page
