Republican Senator Ted Cruz plans to announce on Monday that he will run for president in 2016, the Houston Chronicle reported on its website.
The newspaper, citing senior advisers to the Texas senator who spoke on condition of anonymity, reported that Cruz would launch a presidential bid outright rather than the traditional path of forming an exploratory committee.

And here comes the sharp knives of the MSM close behind.
Cruuuuuuuz!
Excellent
The guy can speak, lets hope he gets lots of direct face time so people can make up their own minds rather than having them made up by others. I don’t think he’s got the stuff as a strategist but he clearly represents something which should be given a fair shake.
You can hire political strategy. As long as you get the right people, it’s an asset.
Cruz may not be an “old guy” but, rhetorically, he’s just as likely to go for the kill. I don’t fear for him.
Good for Cruz, he is the best candidate I see right now willing to fight the tough issues like Obamacare and Amnesty and not duck them.
Just like him. No namby-pamby exploratory committee. Get out there and declare, and be the first. I like everything about this guy.
True, Obama did in Plouffe, but it is the job of the president to be a strategist, otherwise you get the situation where the world ends up crashing around your ears.
I just read something about the IMF being “delighted” to work with a gigantic Chinese bank (which was set up LAST YEAR!) which apparently is viewed as a rival to the World Bank and which we are apparently warning of having questionable standards!
He’d have to be up to the challange of that kind of happy horsecrap and I am not so sure he is.
The knives have been out for Cruz since he walked into the Senate Chamber. This is especially true since the filibuster. In that way, he’s battle tested. He simply does not care. That’s one of his big advantages over, say, Newt.
“And here comes the sharp knives of the MSM close behind.”
For sure, and you can bet Karl and the girls are gearing up to sabotage him as well.
No matter, for this time around the true patriots are locked and loaded. We want our country back and we aim to get it back.
But what about his being born in Canada? I am just asking so as to be prepared for the fallout of just asking the question! His service to the country, willingness to stand up to worthless Obama. But whom to choose as a running mate? Lets face it some of the guys out there are flip flops. Need a strong conservative candidate, not these regurgitated puke Rhinos or GOPestablished suck ups that are just Obamaites
Other that repeating talking points from the Chamber of Commerce and Faux News, do you have any original thought as to why you don’t think Cruz has strategic ability?
(Spoiler alert: I know what you’re going to say - and I’m ready for it.)
Good Lord......going from worrying about Canada (been answered by about 25 articles this week) and then on to worrying about who he might pick as VP?
He has managed to keep trucking along, and fortitude counts (believe me!) but he has not been able to draw in and publicly humiliate his detractors, they always seem a step or two ahead.
When the only messages the average brainless voter gets is MSM pap, it is impossible for me to feel your level of confidence for any good candidate. The media and the Dhimmicrat party so vilified Sarah Palin, that people that had never listened to her message thought she was that SNL character so trecherously portrayed by Tina Fey.
I hope that Cruz does better.
I hate the pillsbury d’oh boy. Rove...rhymes with Loathe.
It would be interesting to see hear what Cronyn says.
