Get ready for Erdogan’s caliphate, Turkey’s ruling party official says
Hürriyet ^ | March/19/2015

Posted on 03/20/2015 8:11:16 PM PDT by DeaconBenjamin

The head of a provincial branch of Turkey’s ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) has stirred the pot by tweeting that the country should “get ready for the caliphate” of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

Fuat Özgür Çalapkulu, the head of the AKP in the eastern province of Siirt, sent the controversial tweet on March 17, hours after Selahattin Demirtaş, the co-leader of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP), said his party “will never let you be president [in a presidential system].”

In his tweet, Çalapkulu said Erdoğan’s opponents had in the past claimed that Erdoğan could not even be a village headman, but in fact he managed to rise to the top of the Turkish state.

“Now they are saying he cannot be president [under a presidential system]. The caliph is coming, get ready,” he added, referring to Erdoğan as “the tall man,” like many of his supporters.

A caliph is a spiritual leader of Islam who claims succession from Prophet Muhammad. The word, stemming from the Arabic khalifa meaning “successor,” has been the focus of much debate since being claimed by the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL).

After his tweet triggered an outcry, Çalapkulu changed the status of his Twitter account to “protected,” ensuring that only confirmed followers have access to his tweets. He also released a written statement on March 19, saying he has a different “perception” of the word “caliph.”

“I use this word to refer to a leader who has command of all the problems, institutions and administration of his country; a leader who is the independent and powerful voice of the world’s downtrodden; the protector of the oppressed; a good, successful, pioneering and visionary leader,” he said in the statement.

Çalapkulu, who was appointed to his office 45 days ago, also stressed that his “peacefully expressed” views should be respected within the scope of freedom of thought.

While learning Turkish within the last six years, we had to know both the Turkish and Arabic for a lot of words, since there’s a huge resurgence its use. Part of how Erdogan keeps winning elections has been ‘relocating’ large numbers of very poor from the east into high-rises in ‘problem’ cities. Izmir is a prime example. When you’re around those people, you hear a lot of Arabic.

Turkey will not return to the 7th century, but to the 14th. Turkish city types will be upset, but the folks in the deep country will not notice the change since they still live in the 14th century.

Turkey’s ruling party is linked to IHH, which is linked to “Qaradawi’s Union of Good.”

Turkey Stakes Claim in America With $100 Million Mega-Mosque

‎5‎/‎21‎/‎2013‎ ‎11‎:‎06‎:‎20‎ ‎PM · by Nachum · 42 replies clarionproject.org ^ | 5/21/2013 | Ryan Mauro

The Islamist government of Turkey is building a 15-acre, $100 million mega-mosque in Lanham, Maryland. Prime Minister Erdogan visited the site on May 15 in a ceremony that was attended by the leaders of two groups linked to the U.S. Muslim Brotherhood. Also present was the Maryland Secretary of State, representing Maryland Governor and likely Democratic presidential candidate in 2016, Martin O’Malley. The mega-mosque is called the Turkish American Culture and Civilization Center and, according to the Muslim Link, it “will likely become the largest and most striking examples of Islamic architecture in the western hemisphere” when it is finished...

Now you know who bought and paid for O'Malley.

They want to undo the WWI destruction of the caliphate and replace it with this "progressive" form of soclialized Islam.

More likely we are going to see Dueling Caliphates. Get your popcorn ready.

I think you are right. Muzzies hate each other as much as they hate the rest of the world, and enjoy slaughtering each other as much as they enjoy slaughtering everyone else.

The problem with the popcorn is... we might be looking at nuclear conflict.

IRAN: Will Obama meet Khatami at Turkey confab? Babylon & Beyond ^ | Apr 5 2009 | Borzou Daragahi

Posted on ‎4‎/‎6‎/‎2009‎ ‎11‎:‎52‎:‎43‎ ‎AM by forkinsocket

Iranian and Turkish media are all abuzz about the possibility that President Obama and former Iranian President Mohammad Khatami might meet at a U.N.-sponsored conference in Turkey this week.

Hurriyet, the big Turkish daily, is reporting that since both men are expected to attend the Alliance of Civilizations conference in Istanbul on Monday and Tuesday, the odds of a chance encounter are high, although noting that "it was not clear as of yesterday if the two would be at the summit at the same time."

Iran's conservative Mehr News Agency cited a close aide to Khatami as saying that "most probably" on the second day of the summit "a short talk will be held between" Khatami and Obama. (Excerpt) Read more at latimesblogs.latimes.com ...

New U.N. Scheme: Alliance of Civilizations (Rosett) Fox News ^ | November 22, 2005 | Claudia Rosett and George Russell

Posted on ‎11‎/‎22‎/‎2005‎ ‎11‎:‎18‎:‎40‎ ‎PM by Ooh-Ah

NEW YORK — After the epic disaster of , one might imagine the United Nations would tread carefully before launching any new and controversial efforts. Hardly.

Still reeling from scandals on many fronts, the U.N. has launched another questionable initiative, called the , which is due to hold its first meeting this weekend in Spain. The program has been widely touted by U.N. Secretary-General as a bridge across cultural and religious divides, but it involves a daisy-chain of dubious associations that casts serious doubt both on the project itself and on the U.N.’s ability to cut loose from the scandals of the past decade.

...

But one lane of the bridge is a lot wider than the other: the panel of 18 “eminent persons” whom Annan named to the Alliance (a 19th, representing all of East Asia, has yet to be named) is weighted heavily on the side of Islamic states,....There are two representatives from the U.S., but none from Israel.

Nor is it exactly clear what the Alliance is intended to accomplish. According to a statement issued by Annan in July, the Alliance is supposed to “overcome prejudice, misconceptions, misperceptions, and polarization” and assemble by late next year an action plan meant “to promote effective responses to emerging threats to world peace.” But in the short term, the Alliance has so far been mainly busy hiring its own secretariat on an initial budget of $3.7 million, and preparing for the first meeting of its ‘High-level Group” this weekend in Majorca, Spain.

Beyond its hazy mandate and vague chain of command — both similar to some of the flaws in U.N. methods criticized by investigation of the Oil-for-Food scandal — the most striking things about the Alliance are the close aides Annan has used to organize and supervise the venture. Alliance of Civilizations bump

To: Ooh-Ah
This nauseating thing was actually the brainchild of Spain's disgraceful PM, Rodriguez Zapatero. ZP was elected solely out of fear and left-wing manipulation (complete with little riots - er, I mean "peace marches") after the Muslims attacked Spain, and within a few weeks, he announced his "Alliance of Civilizations."

Essentially, it means that the Muslim world will be bribed and sweet-talked and given anything it wants, and that the radical left in other places (such as Venezuela, one of Zapatero's favorite places) will be given a major role in running things. He has been doing it on his own, having the Spanish government build mosques and institute classes in Islam in Spanish public schools (although Spain actually has one of the smallest Muslim populations in Europe), and aiding and abetting his radical leftist buddies by selling them arms and giving them other aid. The US had to step in and make him back off from selling high-quality naval material to VZ, although he seems to have circumvented this by selling it to VZ through France.

This "Alliance of Civilizations" crud is basically a way in which the West hands over power to a union of Islam and the radical left.
