 People Who Don't Want Women to See Ultrasounds of their Babies – What Are They Thinking?

 GeorgeLeventhal

 He's a really nice guy. George Leventhal, Montgomery County Maryland Council President, likes puppies. Presumably he loves babies…born ones, that is.

 What motivates a nice guy like George, to want to impede women seeing their babies' ultrasounds? Ultrasounds aren't exactly cute, but people do get excited about them. We can't presume to know George's thinking, but it's still important to try to understand what people who take his position have in mind.

 It may be true, not necessarily in George's case, but on average, that anti-ultrasound people know that if women see their babies, they're not going to want to abort them. You have a great power in your ability to ponder deeply to gain insight into our opponents' state of mind. It's very important, because what progressives say, they intend to put into action. Ivory Tower ravings of past generations of academics are now mandatory United States Government policy. If they say blood will flow in the streets, or in doctors' offices, you might want to pay special attention to what they have in mind.

 Population Controllers are conspicuously ignorant of the looming labor shortage, a normal business presumption in the Human Resources field. (Either you can have a “population-explosion” or a social security crisis, but not both – choose only one of the above).

 One of the issues that's little appreciated, even by right-thinking pro-lifers, is the historic marriage between sexual-freedom and population-control. The Pop-Con side is easier to figure out: Titans of Industry like Bill Gates and John D. Rockefeller want people to have fewer children so they'll have more disposable income with which, ultimately, to further enrich those already wealthy. (This is short-sighted, in economics it's related to short-term profits, because people ultimately create wealth, little babies grow up to be adult workers in just a very few years, the labor-shortage is much more of a threat to the rich than some harmless poor people living in shacks.)

 The sexual-freedom side takes a bit more pondering to really appreciate. It's difficult to overestimate the power of sexual addiction to warp people's thinking…even some very, otherwise wonderful people, people that we know personally. Human sexuality is one of our greatest gifts, the power granted by God to co-create with Him, people who will live forever, some of them to approach divinity. That's why the demons so vigorously attack human sexuality.

 JudgeRuth

 When the human sexual faculty is properly ordered, it results in people exercising a power than is denied to Angels: No angel ever had children, ever suffered through a child's illness or had the wind knocked out of themselves by losing a precious little one. Angels only envy our ability to suffer with Christ.

 When the human sexual faculty becomes disordered, something extremely beautiful becomes very extremely ugly. The capacity for sex and for food are two that are most closely identified with our very selves: When our appetites go awry, we get bloated. When our sexuality gets out of control, we are liable to get into some very strange head spaces…to say the least.

 I once saw a man being interviewed about a law restricting smoking—1978, no smoking within 50 feet of public building entrances. It was on noon-time, local TV news. The man wasn't capable of coherently stating his opposition; because the issue threatened his ability to continue in his addiction to smoking, he went off on a deranged rant, talking very fast, shouting, presenting a bug eyed appearance, a manner you'd want to avoid presenting on an airplane.

 “Q”—an incorporeal, immortal intelligence which has irrevocably chosen evil. Don't say “devil”.

The ideologization of addiction has been one of the most successful strategies of the «non-corporeal, immortal intelligence which has irrevocably chosen evil» — you can't say “devil”. Let's just call him “the one unworthy of mention”, since he doesn't want to be known, just to ruin the world in secret.

 Making sex-addiction into an irresistibly dominant political movement has been the realization of his fondest dreams. Perhaps this is something that influences dear George to want to stop women from seeing their babies' ultrasounds.

The pro-life case isn’t aided by deceptive arguments.

Absolutely nothing keeps women from seeing their ultrasounds. Opponents don’t want women to be forced by government to see their ultrasounds.

Big, big difference.

Little Suzie Crisis Pregnancy Center isn’t forcing anyone to look at anything. But Montgomery County went after Centro Tepeyac Silver Spring Women’s Center.

Prosecuting volunteers and employees of pregnancy care centers for “consumer protection violations”;
Forbidding Centro from “participating in advertising” that county officials deem “untrue or misleading”;
Allowing women who claim they were “harmed by limited-service pregnancy centers to collect monetary damages” from women’s centers;
Denying taxpayer funding to crisis pregnancy centers;
Instructing county officials not to refer women to CPCs for ultrasounds or to “very clearly differentiate the centers from legitimate medical providers”;
Having the county undertake a “public awareness campaign” against pregnancy centers; and
The regulation of ultrasound practices.

A distinction without a difference.

That not offered nor mentioned will most always go untaken.

There are a multitude of consumer protection laws, from potentially cancer-causing ingredients in products to forcing caloric information on products to sale/purchase rights of rescission in home sales in most states. There are a plethora of other 'regulations' laws that are not really much different.

The difference here is an irrevocable result that is deeply connected to religious belief, believe in humanity, whatever you want to call it. In short, a highly charged political shuttlecock that symbolizes the very worst of the one side against the best of the other.

To this end, whenever and however this obscene debasement of humanity can be stopped is just fine with me.

What does that have to do with it? First Amendment?

My point was government sticks its nose in a multitude of places where it does not belong. Why then should the RTL’s case be limited because “it’s unseemly” or “doesn’t help our case”? There are plenty of cases where government forces the citizen to be subject to instruction - why not here?

That excuse to which I replied is just a tired old goody-two shoes veiled acceptance of the left’s practices while clinging to Roberts Rules of Order in the midst of an all out ideological war.

The Left is also big on the ends justifying the means.

And you seem to think by your comments that wholesale slaughter of millions is okay, because of propriety, we cannot ‘play dirty’.

I could spend some time looking up his wants, needs and desires, but why? This one case, while about a specific Democrat, really reflects the lengths to which the left will go to keep people from seeing what they are doing.

The impact of their ‘business’ is millions and millions of slaughtered unborn humans - all because of a political will. If there was ever a cause for right and throwing caution to the wind to stop something like this, this is it.

Isn’t it ironic that education, information and awareness are promoted about EVERYTHING else(including every perversion there is) but not this! When it comes to the contents of a uterus you shouldn’t-and in some cases can’t-know the facts. You can see your MRI, the contents of your colon, but not the ‘tissue with a face’. Not only should all women be shown their ultrasounds, those who choose abortion anyway should-IMO-be given what was removed. You made it, you killed ‘it’, you dispose of ‘it’.It’s a human baby! Have a GOOD look-raise ‘awareness’.
