A Google News search at 3 p.m. Eastern Time today for stories published in March about "Eva Carmichael" (in quotes; sorted by date) returned only 11 items.
Who is Eva Carmichael? She is a 94 year-old woman who was murdered in Meridian, Mississippi on March 1. Based on the complete lack of press coverage outside of the immediate area, it's reasonable to believe that the nation's journalists don't think, in the popular parlance, that "her life mattered" all that much. And why is that?
A March 6 Meridian Star story (HT to NewsBusters commenter "noncom") reported that "Four teenagers have been arrested and charged in connection with her murder, and that those charges are "capital murder and burglary." Additionally, "Other arrests in the case could be forthcoming."

Three of the four described as "teens" are legally adults. AP Stylebook practice, frequently violated, is supposedly to avoid using the term "teens" in such instances.
The Star's March 6 story also quotes an officer telling the reporter that "It appears based on the investigation Ms. Carmichael surprised the individuals that entered the home and as a result she was shot multiple times."
It doesn't take any imagination all to recognize that if this story were about four white teens killing a woman of any color, it definitely would have been covered at least regionally, if not nationally. (To be clear, I have not found a photo of Ms. Carmichael, or evidence of her race. UPDATE: A couple of commenters here have demonstrated that Ms. Carmichael was white.)
In the wake of the aforementioned murder and another death in the area which was also thought at the time to be another murder, the local chapter of the NAACP is blaming ... (I can't believe I'm typing this) ... the public school system:

Two murders in less than 48 hours have the community searching for answers. How can we put a stop to the Meridian's violent crime?
"We should not have to have the crime at this rapid level," Meridian/Lauderdale Co. NAACP President Randle Jennings says.
Jennings says they believe the root of the problem lies within the Meridian public school system. He says many of these criminals drop out, can't find jobs and they run out of choices.
"The criminal is at fault, but what we're seeing is that these are young people that are almost in a position where they're desperate," he says. "I've been in education, my entire life. I've never seen a chaotic community and a sensible, productive school system."
A press release from the NAACP says:
"Meridian school board members consistently expelled or pushed out young people, creating early juvenile offenders!"
By that "logic" that not being able to find a job guarantees a high level of criminal activity American should have utterly imploded during the Great Depression. Note that it didn't.
The demise of Eva Carmichael is just one small item in a long list of such crimes (to be clear, none of the others involve murder) chronicled by Colin Flaherty at American Thinker earlier today.
The press's consistent refusal to give prominence to black youth crime, clearly even murder, is undeniable, pervasive — and a national disgrace.

Nice try by the hustlers. If these thugs were in the running as future valedictorians and salutorians you can bet they would not have been “pushed out” of the goobermint school. “Pushing them out” did not make them “early juvenile offenders” unless the NAALCP hack responsible for the press release can come up with proof that they were so distraught by missing algebra and chemistry classes that they decided to turn to burglary and murder. These thugs were already juvenile offenders, and therefore were “pushed out.”
A course in logic would benefit the NAALCP hack. Of course, a statement as to the true state of affairs involving these young thugs would not fit “the narrative.”

If it had been Four White Teens, breaking in and murdering a Black 94 year old woman - Obama would call it a national disgrace, racism and sick the Attorney General on that town. But because it is the other way - the press is overwhelmingly silent and Obama can’t play it the way he wants to.
Not to mention, the horrendous murder of the young girl who was burned to death In Mississippi has disappeared down the black hole. If anything was worthy of a national news story, that is. Just like the torture/murders of Channon Christian and Christopher Newsome were ignored-this is a crime where the vile murderers sat eating breakfast as Channon lay suffocating to death, after many hours of gang rape and torture, including being forced to drink bleach. Yet over 50 years later we’re still all called to pay penance for Emmett till Jr (Till Sr was courtmartialed and hanged in Europe, during WW!! for the multiple rapes of Italian women, whom he was supposed to be liberating). At bottom, it’s our (white people’s) fault, because we won’t make a sacrifice to get out there and protest these horrendous murders and never stop until they have to listen.
And to add to all that, there is a real epidemic of black teens raping, beating, and sometimes murdering elderly white women-one was 103 yo. if anyone tells me that “poverty” is at the root of crimes like this, the least i’ll do is spit in their faces. Imagine living to 103 yo and dying thatt way, after being utterly degraded.
I would bet a huge dollar figure that not a one of them has a father in the house married to his mother.

Me too. Imagine the gall of these people to continue to “protest” (loot, riot, assault, vandalise” over “injustice”, when the crime rates tell the story that by far, blacks are preying upon whites. but that’s another “hate fact”. The media has the means to know this, but they will ignore the statistics. Who cares if whites are assaulted, murdered, and raped many times more, by blacks, who are only app 12% of the population? Not even whites seem to care. Too many are trying to drag the rest of us into their made-up guilt over their “white privilege”. if they think they’re too privileged, then they can give away everything they own and offer themselves as a sacrifice to the “diversity”, but leave the rest of us the hell alone. But that seems to be the whole point-to drag the rest of into a position of being prey for the “diversity”.
