Will diplomacy prevail in Ukraine? The Nations Stephen Cohen joined The John Batchelor Show on Tuesday to discuss the feasibility of the Minsk II agreement and the increased war footing among NATO officials and policymakers in Washington.
Cohen argued that the rhetorical war on Minsk II is based on political ideological imaginations, because there is no hard intelligence to back up the claims that theres been this massive Russian invasion. If Minsk II fails and fighting escalates, the United States and NATO face a real chance of war with Russia, Cohen said.
What?
A liberal Kremlinologist makes this prediction?
No one is going to volunteer to die over Crimea or eastern Ukraine.
And Obama hasn’t shown repeatedly he isn’t up for that famous 3:00 AM phone call.
Utterly insane.
Reading articles from Cohen and that trash the Nation? Cohen is a far leftist and a notorious Russian apologist. He probably receives his propaganda straight from an FSB agent who used to provide him his LSD in the 60s.
Don’t worry! Obama has started secret negotiations and has let Putin know that he is ready to give them back Alaska to preserve the peace. /sarc
...”Utterly insane”...
Just listened to video today on what ‘we’ didn’t know of the Cuban Missile crisis ... and un-knows at the time....Kennedy did not know the Soviets had Nuclear tipped Missiles, nor that Krushev had given his Commander the authority to fire them if the US began an invasion...without his authority.
It was more frightening then so many realize in just how close we came to nuclear war....by minutes, not hours. And how difficult communications, or lack of, were at that time.
In the end both men mentioned the word “Insane”...I’ll quote here....
“Insane that two men sitting on opposite sides of the world could bring an end to civilization”...”Insane not to have been afraid”.
Rather let Poroshenko and Putin go at it and leave out all the middlemen!
He sits back and manipulates the players
“Rather let Poroshenko and Putin go at it and leave out all the middlemen!”
Then just bribe George Soros.
How do you bribe a man who is worth $30 billion? Give him his own country? Oh, wait, he already controls one, a really big one-3,531,905.43 square miles-run by puppets and stooges on the take at 38°53’N 77°01’W.
Ukranian conscripts have been unwilling to fight Kiev's war. But Russia has been willing to fight to keep Crimea and protect the rights of Russian ethnics. And the people of eastern Ukraine have been willing to fight the coup government in Kiev.
The message should be clear by now. Partition the mess that has coup leaders and their financers in Kiev provoking WW3. Do the partition among countries according to the ethnicity of the region.
We broke it (Ukraine) and it can't be put back together again.
JMHO
Laughably imprecise.
The U.S. broke the Ukraine?
thats a tricky one because it sets a precedent..
the other old soviet republics are also in a similar situation
Estonia has 20 or so percent russian nationals to name just one.
i am guessing Latvia, Lithuania, Poland (might be lower there) will be in a similar situation and thats to name just a few. also what happens when the russians in the western part of Ukraine start to congregate on the new border to create a majority, do you extend the russian border again? what about all the non-russian natives in russia, do they get a chance to do the same (im guessing no). its a mess
War with Russia? Not to worry. Obama will succeed where the likes of Napoleon and Hitler failed. [/s]
Churchill, Oct 1, 1939. “I cannot forecast to you the action of Russia. It is a riddle wrapped in a mystery inside an enigma”
Yep...
