President Obama didnt dare mention the situation at Richmond, Virginias Martin Luther King Middle School during his oh-so-eloquent Selma speech last Saturday. The mess at MLK is being played out in majority black schools across the country.
On March 6 an NBC affiliate reported MLK, a school with 731 students and 99% black, had 1635 disorderly incidents in 2014. The kicker? The $40 million dollar state-of-the-art middle school opened in January of the same year.
The writing was on the wall in May, 2014 when teachers at MLK wrote an extensive email to a local TV station saying they feared for their lives. Teachers claimed the school was not safe for teachers or students and administrators were turning a blind eye to their concerns.
From NBC12 May 14, 2014:
"We come every day to a hostile environment," said the teacher. "The message is we need something to be done. We cannot go on with the status quo."
The teacher says even attempting to write up students leads to threats from the teens.
"Snitches get stitches threats," said the teacher. "I'm going to slap you, or I'm going to hit you, or I can't wait to fight you."
"We really can't teach until the behavior issues are controlled," said the teacher.
The teachers claim, "the administration made a rule that prevents students from being removed from class, no matter how disruptive or disrespectful the students may be.
Last Friday, a day before the Obama family walked across the Edmund Pettus bridge in Selma in what the president described as living history, NBC 12s Laura Gellar updated the stations six-month investigation into MLK

I have a friend who used to teach music in a Nashville school. He texted us and said......
it’s only 9:00 and I have already been punched, spit on and kicked in the shins twice..... by kindergarteners!
He quit within weeks and went into the building trades.
I’m an ex-teacher. Taught for 10 years. Parents don’t support you. Supt.s and principals are gutless liberals. It’s an awful profession in a government school. God Bless the ones that persevere!
Agreed.
Our Dimwit Democrat Senator Bob Casey has introduced a bill that would essentially make it a violation of Federal Law to suspend black kids.
Yeah, he’s that dense.
When my kids made it to high school (we had moved to Hawaii by then) they would question their history teacher about stuff. The teacher was amazed that they knew certain things that the school didn’t teach. I’m a big history nut and tell the kids to never take the government for their word but always research it more.
America’s new motto: “Hands up! Don’t shoot! I can’t breathe”.
How far we have fallen.
“Turner Diaries” days are here.
I talked to a municipal/county “insider” the other day.
He said it was now prosecutorial policy to always plea bargain black males because the jury pool will not convict them for anything.
"BTW, whenever I see an opinion that implies that working with ones hands in a trade is somehow beneath someone in a white collar occupation, I feel like I am in the company of a an elitist progressive."
Is that what you got out of my comment?
If so, let me set the record straight.
You couldn't be more wrong...in fact, my position is quite the opposite. And if you doubt that, why don't you take a look at how I made my living for 20 years...and in my post USAF career, I still break my skin on aircraft once in a while, just not as much as before. The evidence is on my home page.
I hold tradesmen in higher regard than just about any other occupation. My father was/is a tradesman...a machinist's mate in the USN, a Marine Engineer on the Panama Canal and currently...a part time general contractor.
I excelled in wood shop, machine shop, auto shop and mechanical drawing classes, not in academics.
Wrenching runs in my blood...
This is our future. God help us, more than that God help our children.
If we were talking about "fairness" there would be a special place in Hell reserved for Liberals.
What a bunch of complainers. How else do you keep a subservient population useful for votes and no notice street demonstrations? A good dictatorship doesn’t just happens, it needs a little blood.
Yup. I see the very same behaviors in white trash derelicts roaming this town. Blacks were just a bit ahead of the curve.
Hands up, Don’t Teach
Here is the answer to why black kids are being shot by police. They have not been taught respect. What they have been taught is that they can get away with almost anything so why should they respect anything, life, property or women. From the feral youth of the, “Great Society” you get the worst of the worst and it is rapidly becoming the norm. There will be more shootings and more of the black community protesting until it is worked up into a frenzy of civil war and the people involved won’t even understand what happened. So lock and load folks it is coming.
Wrenching runs in my blood...
(((
I like that.
Sorry, I did not mean to insult you. Apparently, I misinterpreted your comment about white-collar work.
God bless you. And I thank you — and your father — for your service.
Peace.
No insult taken and none meant.
I can see how my comment may have been interpreted as a dig on tradesmen...
No one forces a teacher stay at a trashed out school like this. They should stop teaching there if they are afraid and not protected.
Hugs to you. (Don’t worry I am a woman. :)
I hope you can get out of that jungle...
Those guys and a bunch of folks I know are not of the class. they are citizens like you and me. I don’t even think of them in the class. It is like the idea of having a White Party to be based on European and Christian derived precepts but anyone who shares those precepts would be part of it. Naming it the White Party would get a superblast of invective early on but it would wane to the background that non Democrats get anyway and with a name like that it would be a little harder to get away from principle, I would think and it would be less ambiguous than “Republican.”
