I suppose you could give Campbell Brown and John Heilemann credit for candor. They've made it clear that when it comes to qualifications for replacing Jon Stewart as Daily Show host, there is one fatal flaw: being a conservative.
On today's With All Due Respect, Brown and John Heilemann were kicking around the results of a poll as to whom Americans prefer to replace Stewart. Tina Fey came in first, with Dennis Miller a close second. Said Brown: "I can't imagine Dennis Miller. Hasn't he gone right wing?" Heilemann agreed: "that's not going to work."

Being funny apparently is now irrelevant because Miller is definitely funny. It will be hard to replace Stewart because he is one the few libs who occasionally is funny. If Tina Fey is chosen she had better have a large stable of writers.Of course so did Stewart.

Brown is doing a superb job of taking on the powerful teacher’s unions. Gotta give her big props for that.
I won't pretend to know how chicks judge male looks, but Dennis looks like a dude I could have a beer with. Stewart? He looks like he'd order some faggy white wine were he to even step into at a sports bar.
It baffles me to this day why it is that women are not attracted to John Wayne, but they do like Justin Bieber. Women are dopes in a lot of ways.
They wouldn’t want to add someone to the show who the public wants and who would improve their ratings.

Oh come now. You are vastly understating Stewart's crowd-pleasing talents.
He dropped at least one variant of the f-bomb at the beginning of the deadpan mug, one during the mug and often two or three at the end of the mug.
This ranks him as a Protean talent among leftist comics, indeed among leftists at large.
