The America that I love has been changing, but it wasn’t until Feb. 26 that I was struck with the realization that I don’t recognize my country anymore. That was the day three FCC commissioners, without revealing the regulations or taking public comment, decided to take regulatory control of the internet.

Net neutrality was created by Soros to get government to control most of the Information in the Internet. sure some sites might survive by next year but these FCC laws are to ruin the Internet and control free speech as they are doing to healthcare with Obamacare.

Most people don’t realize that the country has been run by bureaucrats, from local all the way up, for many years. Elected officials do very little anymore except tv face time and yak.

I recently learned that ham operators are using special software to trransmit digital information. They are texting with each other, and at much farther ranges than with conventional analog voice transmission!
And if so, it will be at the pleasure of the government.

All snakiness aside (sorry), it reminds me of the Citizens United v. FEC case, and during the courtroom discussion when one of the justices asked about the power of censorship and whether it could be invoked under the laws in question, the attorney representing the government’s (or at least the Obama “Justice” Department) view on it said something to the effect of “Yes, it legally could authorize censorship, but we don’t authorize it, and probably never would.”
I think it was Scalia who stood up and leaned over the Supreme’s Bench and said (I have to paraphrase, can’t find it) “Americans don’t operate legally or illegally on the whim of a government bureaucrat.”

You may be right that things will look much the same here in a year, but that doesn’t mean things haven’t changed. There were a lot of Republicans who were all for some of the stuff Bush passed that worried me, and who scoffed at the idea that the changes were disastrous. If the conservatives had joined with the liberals who were screaming about them, maybe Bush wouldn’t have gone so far. When Obama made use of those changes to his own advantage, *then* conservatives screamed, but of course by that point the liberals thought it peachy keen fine.
When people ignore the implications of a law because the law doesn’t immediately change things, or because they like the guy the law empowers, then that law gets harder and harder to change. Look at how Obamacare is being implemented, and it’s clear that the people making the most dangerous changes know how things work. The law gives them sweeping powers, but they only make use of those powers incrementally, so people don’t notice how much things have changed.
It’s only in retrospect that most people realize how much things have changed, and can then see the impact of these sorts of laws.
I understand how you feel. They use a lot of “Grubers’ in the process off destroying the country... How would we know, the suck-up butt kissers in the press didn’t make a big deal off it BECAUSE they’re commie handlers didn’t feed them the story.

I admit that I have been watching the country of my birth go south, (oh, is that racist? too bad!), ever since the signing of first, The Patriot Act, (oh, is that un-American? phooey!) second, The Military Commissions Act, (you remember, the one that outright declares any and all Americans as suspect before the crime), and then as a moron who got elected, started in his election campaigns stating: ‘those who make ocer ‘x’ amount of dollars make too much money.’
I’ve watched all elected bobbleheads saying wondrous and disastrous words, but still the train kept rolling on towards the cliff. I’ve not seen that many elected bobbleheads state any words beginning, in the middle, or ending with, ‘for the good of the nation’s future’, as other previous bobbleheads have done.
I’ve watched both the racial, and the foreign national minorities grab the rest of the nation, and rival for control of the entire nasion, minority be damned. I watched the sexually perverted minority attempt to wrest the same control from both the other two minority factions. I watched all these groups attempt to re-define the actual American English language, or silence anyone using the American English language as it has been used for centuries, because it offends their ears.
I’ve watched the present sitting President take America, the place where people died in their escapes to gain Freedom from a Communist Cuba, to an attempt to emulate somethiing between a tin horn dictator and an Arab sheik.
I watched this sitting President tell us, who have lived here all of our lives, unlike him, that Christianity was not, but that mohammedanism was, part of the formation of this nation.
Where are all those that would stand up and toss all of these bobbleheads on their ears? Have we all started fearing government? or what?
