Patronage, not Patronizing. Damn Spell check
Damn...I really like being a Prime Customer at Amazon. I’m gonna have to stop it. I hate that SOB.
Amazon does sell a lot of fiction...
Well, I gues we can be assured that Amazon will now get faster Internet connections........I mean, if you can’t reward your friends (who donate money), what good is it being a DEM?
Well we can expect favorable government treatment for Amazon now.
Senior Vice President of Corporate Affairs? That means whispering in the ears of your friends in government I guess.
Amazon’s prices have been going up, Bezos took on WaPo, he’s hired this guy, all after seriously POing the authors who produce the product for his core business.
That is so true.
I don’t need anything from amazon...
I’m going to real bookstores from now on.
If I need something badly, I’ll get it off of Ebay.
This man has no corporate experience. All he’s ever done is being a leftist mouthpiece on TV and in politics. Yes, we should be concerned and highly suspicious of this hire. It didn’t happen by chance.
Re phony shelves, reminds me of Brian Williams.
It also means he'll be fired in a heartbeat if he doesn't deliver. These guys get paid to peddle influence, not for their nonexistent business acumen.
“all after seriously POing the authors who produce the product for his core business.”
******
Amazon’s core business has been software for at least a decade. It’s new primary core business is distribution. Software will continue to play a key role, particularly if Internet sales taxes are imposed nationwide on all ecommerce.
Amazon’s business hasn’t primarily been about books since at least 2004. The books are just a facade for where the real money is made.
How is it that people can use government service as a springboard to lucrative management level jobs?
Carney is going to Amazon in an executive position.
Eric Cantor is a vice chairman of a investment bank.
Janet Napolitano became the head of the University of California university system.
Would any of these people have these executive positions if not for trading on their positions in government?
I’m sure there have been many others. These examples are just off the top of my head.
I would also ask, were any of these people qualified for these positions by virtue of their skills and experience?
What qualifies Napolitano to run California’s university system for example???? What experience did she have which made her uniquely qualified for the job????
Who would ever hire a known bullshi**er for a senion VP role in a corporation?
He’ll lie openly to your face.
Have not seen much benefit come from my past boycotts of certain business. Most of the major merchants seem cut from the same philosophical cloth. This “economy” cannot go on much longer functioning this way anyway.
My USPS mailwoman said that her having a job rests more and more on junk mail and delivery of Amazon Prime handoffs from UPS. Didn’t ask about FedEx but I took her meaning to include both. She also said that Amazon packages had to be delivered the same day as the local USPS office received them or, contracturally, Amazon (or whoever) did not have to pay USPS.
“Anyone to follow?”
Yep.
The federal “featherbedding”—and agencies once created that won’t die, even if staked through the heart—is bad enough. But now the private sector makes work for guys like this?
Right behind you, FRiend: I have a say in this matter. I used to give Amazon a lot of business, but no more to pay for this Obama mouthpiece’s sinecure. toellwitcha Amazon!
