Minnesota state Rep. Tony Cornish says the al-Shabaab threat against the
Mall of America should be enough to motivate mall owners to drop their “no guns” policy so citizens can protect themselves.
Mr. Cornish, a Republican who also chairs the House Public Safety Committee, said the Mall of America has interpreted state concealed carry laws incorrectly, and he’s intent on challenging them for it, a local CBS affiliate reported.
“This is completely ridiculous. The complete opposite of what they should be doing,” he said. “If we’re threatened with an attack, the last thing you want to do is disarm citizens.”
The Republican’s comments come after a tweet sent from the Mall of America’s Twitter account said, “The mall bans all guns from the premises, you’ll note this clearly at each entrance door.”

It’s good for candle and teddy bear sales. What’s not to like?
Big gov being is now considering, for your safety, putting up metal detectors, armed guards, scanners, x-ray machines, sniffing dogs and random searches at all the mostly empty malls.
That should boost the numbers of people going to malls who already avoid them like the plague. Lets go to the mall and get groped and searched.

The weapon is hidden... if for some reason it’s discovered last I heard the fine was 25 bucks (plus probably a few hundred in “court costs”) if you don’t leave...

Yes they will. Even if the person saves 1000 lives they
will prosecute them. If for no other reason than to thwart
a lawsuit.
Most likely anyone who throws down on a terrorist
will come under fire by the mall cops. Remember you
can never do anything that makes the local law enforcement
look irreverent.

Unless it’s a government that is being held, truly held
accountable for it’s actions by it’s citizens. Then it makes
perfect sense.

Probably. If they’re anything like NY, the sheepdog would go to jail.
Malls are mostly for teenagers walking around looking at each other anyway .

If a gun carrying, law-abiding citizen took out, say 5 terrorists in an attack at this mall, no jury, even in Minnesota would convict.

Yea, no kidding. That’s what I thought when seeing the Mall sign.
