The media is widely reporting a terror threat against the Mall of America by Al-Shabaab, a Somali Muslim terror group. None of them are reporting why the Mall of America in particular would be a target.

In Minnesota Somali gangs have effectively and quietly established no go zones and that portions of the Twin Cities are not under any semblance of US law.

I’ve always thought that malls in general would be ripe targets for Terrorists. Ie. Secuity guards no guns, thousands of people confined in relatively small area etc.

It’s stands to reason that MOA would be a prime target because it’s the biggest mall and extremely high profile.

Plus Tom Clancy wrote a book about 10/15 years back where Muslim terrorists attacked a mall somewhere in middle America. FYI, in the book they were smuggled into the country over the TX/Mexico border by the Mexican drug cartels.

Keep in mind in Clancy also wrote a book where a Japanese man flew a 747 into the Capital building in Washington, DC during a joint session of Congress and killed virtually everybody at the top of the federal government except the new VP(Jack Ryan).

So, these terrorists didn’t just think up this plot all by themselves. All you have to do is read Clancy’s(and other authors) books and there are all sorts of terrorism ideas.
