NYT Smears Scientist Willie Soon for Telling the Truth About ‘Global Warming’

Another day, another attack on the integrity of the Harvard-Smithsonian astrophysicist Dr. Willie Soon, this time in the New York Times. I first became aware of Soon in 2009 when reading through the Climategate emails. One of them was a jocular suggestion by a warmist called Tom Wigley as to how best to smear Soon and his co-author Sallie Baliunas.

Might be interesting to see how frequently Soon and Baliunas, individually, are cited (as astronomers). Are they any good in their own fields? Perhaps we could start referring to them as astrologers (excusable as…’oops, just a typo’).

You might be wondering what Soon and Baliunas had done to incur the wrath of the climate alarmist establishment. Well, they’d just published a meta-analysis of all the papers which had been written on the Medieval Warm Period (MWP). What their paper showed is that contrary to claims by one Michael Mann (the name may be familiar), the MWP was not a small, localised event but global, big and widespread.

Tell the truth (ala Rudy Guliani), and the radical left wing extremists will be out to get you in any way shape or form they can. I've been reading Soon and Baliunas for years now when they publish something or do a commentary. Let's see, trust these two or algore and john f'n kohn-heinz-kerry or the lyin' king. Not a tough choice.

Also, the warming alarmists like to say that a .10 degree change upward will cause global devastation but being down almost 9 degrees where I live hasn't been a disaster. Also, when it was 9 degrees warmer does that mean it was a disaster?

Don’t know if it’s a disaster or not but I checked our aspen trees yesterday morning and their poppin’ buds already. Been a purty mild winter here in Reno. Not a lot of snow in the mountains either. The dang lawn is starting go green up too. Curse algore..............

I remember reading about the MWP and a number of warmists claiming it was restricted to Greenland and a few other nearby places. I wondered how they knew that. They provided no evidence. The MWP lasted about four hundred years.

If the temps warmed as much globally as they did in Greenland, supposedly that would have meant rising sea levels and flooded coastlines. Where is the evidence for flooded coastlines? I think warmists are trying to suppress a lot of data that disproves their theories. Now that would be shocking, wouldn't it? (snicker)
