Why is President Obama asking for Authorization for Use of Military Force against the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant? Why ask for permission to carry on with operations that have been underway for more than six months and that are permitted under a 2001 authorization that is still in place? Because he doesnt know what else to do.
Mr. Obama is being hammered by many on the left and the right for his wavering efforts to destroy the terrorists who have killed and pillaged their way across large swaths of Iraq and Syria. He has been mocked for admitting to having no strategy for their defeat, and he has been criticized for his lack of resolve.
As many have noted, he has been unwilling even to identify our enemy as Islamist extremists or to acknowledge that this is a religious confrontation. Though he has made the case that our coalition forces are holding the line against ISIS further advance, Americans are not so sure we are making progress. They are more impressed by the horrifying murders perpetrated by the ISIS savages, and they want more from their president.

If Obama is given free rein to fight terrorists, I wonder who he’ll arm, train, and finance next.
He’s just passing the buck to congress. When it all fails he’ll say congress did that!
Based on what I’m seeing on Twitter from Obama’s little army of propaganda tweeters, it’s becoming clear that he’s now working on the “optics” of this situation. Essentially, ISIS is the Republicans’ fault for not working with Obama. They’re also floating the idea that ISIS is linked to Israel.
How about trying a tactical nuke on an ISIS camp?
We haven’t nuked anyone in 70 years and now it’s no longer a threat, because nobody believes we ever would again.
It’s time to put the fear of God back into our enemies.
He’s seeking authorization to surrender to ISIS.
That’s what this is all about. Blame shifting.
He’ll put chewing gum on this disaster until he’s gone.
J A C K A S S !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Try carpet bombing the entire Muslim world with nukes.
Obama hoped that half-hearted aerial bombing campaigns would be enough.
Obama’s going to draw a red line in the sand.
Once he does that, ISIS had better watch out.
Cough, cough ahem
Obama signals he’s out of ideas and then plays with his Selfie Stick
Expect a ping shortly
Poor Bambam. If he has to micro-manage against ISIL/ISIS from the War Room, that is really gonna cut into his golfing.
[It seems rather strange that Obama doesn’t seem to be spending as much time golfing as he has done for the last 6 years. Maybe, with less than 2 years to go, he needs to stay closer to the czars and micro-manage more of the fundamental changing of America.]
To make us think he’s doing something; to do nothing; and to blame it on Republicans.
That would open the gates to nuke retaliation on us, but of course, WE KNOW they’ll eventually nuke us in the future whether or not we nuke them...
Which begs the philosophical question of pre-emptive strikes:
1. Suppose, your neighbor hates you and has a beautiful kind wife.
2. Suppose his hobby is raising a lot of rattlesnakes in his backyard.
3. Suppose there is no fence between your yard and his and there is no way to build an effective barrier.
4. Suppose he has threatened to kill you with his rattlesnakes
5. Suppose you realize that eventually his rattlesnakes will kill you.
WHAT WOULD YOU DO? __________
a) Do you blow up his house including him and the rattlesnakes and his innocent/beautiful wife? or:
b) Do you wait until your certain future of death by rattlesnakes?
Clearly, it’s NOT wise to wait for your certain death at his hands, so your only real choice is the first one.
Your dilemma is you that know that there will be innocent casualties (e.g. his beautiful/innocent wife would die in the blast), but you will not be killed in the future by him and you will rid the world of this evil man and his weapons.
THEREFORE, from a pure survival standpoint, it would make sense to nuke all of ISIS and all other evil factions in the middle east.
Source: Ross Perot once mentioned the analogy of a rattlesnake in your backyard. I just expanded upon the idea.
