He can’t run in 2018 as OR Governors are limited to 8 years out of every 12 (this is 2nd stint as Governor), A bizarre variation seen in a few sates, why not just 2 terms consecutive like most of them? Same effect.
I would favor an 8 out of every 16 limit myself, as in Montana and Wyoming.
I hope he stays and starts doing and saying really crazy shite, liking *announcing* he’ll run in 2018, maximize damage to the OR rat party.

Same deal with Packwood. Someone said to him "Do you want to fight these charges as John Kitzhaber, or as Governor Kitzhaber?" That, and he can raise a defense fund as Goobernator.
