Official: Houthis seize U.S. Embassy vehicles, Marines' weapons at airport

Houthi rebels took all U.S. Embassy vehicles parked at the Yemeni capital's airport and wouldn't allow departing U.S. Marines to take their weapons with them, a top airport official in Sanaa said Wednesday.

The actions come after the United States, along with Britain, suspended operations at their respective embassies and moved out staffers because of the instability in the Arab nation.

You guys have this perceived notion that the USMC is full of hardened tough guys. I got news for all of you and I hate to smash your hopes, but the USMC has been sanitized of all killer instincts within the last 20 years of rampant unchecked liberal policies on the military. Some of you out there should be wondering why we haven’t had a military success since WW2. These leadership and military failures can be traced directly to your elected official’s and the men we put in the White Hut. It’s bad, it’s so bad, that I felt in my last year in the military that I had to watch every word I said and the training that I planned couldn’t be too aggressive because someone may get hurt and write their Senator. Unfortunately this Yemen thing is one of those things that Americans haven’t paid any attention to till very recently when our media decided it was important.

I’ve been watching since the Arab Spring when the “friendly” government seized control and frankly the Houthis are no dirtier or cleaner than the last group of scumbags.

The Houthi have been saying the Suni govt was using Al Qeada to attack them while we give them money to fight AQ.

It all seems pretty much par for the course in much of the mideast.

Personally, I don't want to put troops back in Iraq or take on the Russians, but I understand what you are saying.

I also think the problem is much bigger than military reform. We don't have enough "real" men to fill the boots of the real Marines Corps. And that goes for all the armed services... We're a nation of wussies.

We couldn't do what this country did back in WW2... because we just don't have the collective courage, determination, willpower... or moral fiber.
